摘要： A device for feeding sheets of wrapping material from a roll formed of wrapping material web to a packaging machine which discontinuously operates at consecutive cycles. The device includes a transversal cutter provided with cutter blades for cutting single sheets of wrapping material from the web which has a new leading edge after each cut, and at least one intermittent motion feeding group for feeding the web to the cutter. A first independent electric stepping motor drives the feeding group and is controlled by a programmable electronic control circuit which controls the stepping motor to drive the feeding group in accordance with a predetermined sequence of motions in synchronism with the cycles the packaging machine, including momentarily driving the feeding group backwards to withdraw and detach the leading edge of the web from the cutter blades.

摘要： A reel 12 for a web of packaging material, such as metal foil for wrapping cigarettes, is axially extendable outwardly from the machine base 10 to facilitate web roll replacement. Such extension, and retraction, is implemented by a double acting pneumatic piston and cylinder 30, 31 mounted within the hollow reel axle 16 between a central web 35 of the axle and a surrounding tubular housing 24. Fine transverse adjustments of the web feed are made by a bidirectional worm 50 driving a rotatable wheel nut 51, 52 in response to output signals from a lateral movement sensing unit 38.

摘要： An arrangement for selecting and feeding a wrapper from a storage unit to a big paper roll or the like. The storage unit comprises several wrapper rolls of different axial length and separate feeding means for each wrapper. The feeding means are in a substantially vertical line and there is a guiding unit for guiding the selected wrapper to a roll wrapping station. The feeding means operate as the main wrapper pulling and feeding devices of the arrangement. The guiding unit, which is provided with means for transversely cutting the wrapper passing therethrough, is movable mainly vertically and can be selectively positioned in front of any of the feeding means, preferably very close to them.

摘要： Packing machines for the manufacture of packing containers frequently produce these from web-like material, which is supplied to the machine in the form of a roll. During the production the material web is advanced through the machine along a path defined by guiding rollers, guiding rails and similar elements. These guiding elements obstruct in an undesirable manner the movement of the material web through the machine. This difficulty is eliminated in accordance with the invention in that a front and a back part of the material web are advanced alternately. In accordance with the invention, moreover, an arrangement is proposed with first and second web-advancing elements, which operate with alternating working strokes.

摘要： An electrically operated tape feeder for tapes of various kinds including very soft tape, having means to preselect either of two adjustable lengths of tape, to be dispensed by manually starting the machine, with other means automatically to deliver a severed strip of tape of predetermined adjustable length to the front of the machine, operated by simply lifting a previously delivered and severed strip from the machine. The machine has means to hold the end of the strip in the machine after it has been severed, and arrangements to keep the holding means out of the path of the tape during feeding thereof but assuring presence of the holding means by the time the strip is severed. The last means also involves means to prevent continuous energization of the circuitry if a manual starting switch is held closed continuously, without intentionally withdrawing a severed strip from the machine.

摘要： A supplementary device mountable on a packaging machine is disclosed. The device includes mounting means for mounting the device on such a packaging machine and two web feed paths, each associated with a respective web feeder and with a respective rotary web cutter. The web feeders are alternately operable so that, when the reel from which a web fed along a first of the feed paths approaches the emptied condition, the respective other web feeder means is actuated and the first web feeder means is de-actuated. Each cutter comprises a first member rotatable relatively to a second member to bring mutually co-operable knife elements of the first and second members into co-operative action. The rotatable member of each cutter is a disc-shaped member provided with, preferably, four knife elements spaced at equal angular intervals around its periphery.
