The PFM device provides for the insertion of one or more individual and separately controllable tools into the sewer pipe. The tools include a clean out tool and a camera. Each of the tools is controlled separately such that each tool can be inserted and retracted from the lateral as desired. A method includes the steps of inserting and operating separately controllable tools from a single preparation device that provides access to the lateral without a cleanout or other alternate access passage.
