摘要: Methods and systems for cleaning, coating and sealing leaks in existing pipes, in a single operation. A piping system can be cleaned in one pass by dry particulates forced and pulled by air throughout the piping system by a generator and a vacuum. Pipes can be protected from water corrosion, erosion and electrolysis, extending the life of pipes such as copper, steel, lead, brass, cast iron piping and composite materials. Coatings can be applied to pipes having diameters up to approximately 6″. Leak sealants of at least approximately 4 mils thick can cover insides of pipes, and can include novel mixtures of fillers and epoxy materials, and viscosity levels. A positive pressure can be maintained within the pipes during applications. Piping systems can be returned to service within approximately 96 hours.

摘要: Apparatus (1) for enabling a coating to be applied to an internal surface of a pipe elbow or bend C comprises a flexible body (2) adapted for location to extend within the pipe elbow or bend, and a bendable core (3) extending through the body. Bending of the core causes the flexible body to be bent in a similar manner. A method for applying the coating to the internal surface of the pipe elbow or bend (C) comprises the steps of shaping the flexible body (2) and locating it to extend within the pipe elbow or bend, and introducing a coating material so as to flow around and into a space defined between the flexible body and the internal surface of the elbow or bend.

摘要: A process for reducing the level of elemental sulfur and organic sulfur pick-up by refined hydrocarbon streams such as gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, kerosene or fuel additives such as ethers or iso-octane that are transported through a pipeline used to transport various sulfur-containing petroleum streams. The oxygen level in the hydrocarbon stream of interest to be pipelined as well as in at least the first hydrocarbon stream sequenced immediately ahead of the hydrocarbon stream of interest is reduced.

摘要: A pipeline pig—that moves by pressurized gas flow and provides for distribution of treating liquid subsisting in a lower portion of a pipeline—having a longitudinally extending nozzle located at a forward end of the pig, an array of helical-shaped louvers located on the discharge side of the nozzle and arranged circumferentially, and two perforated sealing elements that create a cavity that serves as a low pressure plenum. The louvers create a vortex effect and the perforated sealing elements allow vapor and liquid in front of the pig to be drawn into the cavity and discharged through the ports and back into the discharge of the nozzle. In this manner, liquid subsisting at a bottom portion of the pipeline is dispersed to achieve a complete 360° coating application of the interior cylindrical wall of the pipeline.

摘要: A device for determining the position of a scraper which is displaceable for the transport of coating material in a supply path of thereof, the coating material comprises a sensor responding to the presence of the scraper. This sensor is accommodated in a separate measuring head, which contains an inner, self-sufficient current source and a circuit arrangement which generates an electric output signal indicating presence or absence of the scraper on the sensor. The information in this output signal is conducted by means of a device, which manages without galvanic connection, preferably via an optical waveguide, to an evaluation circuit, electrically insulated at a distance from the measuring head and which generates an electric output signal used for controlling other parts of the plant. A device of this kind can also be used for detecting scrapers where, as frequently in electrostatically operating coating plants, the sensor has to be attached at a point located at high electric potential.
