Abstract: A diabetes management system includes a handheld medical device, a mobile computing device, and a diabetes management application. The handheld medical device is configured to measure glucose in a sample of fluid residing in a test strip and associate a measurement time with the glucose measurement. The diabetes management application is configured to request a current device time from the RTC, determine a first device delta time by determining a difference between the current device time and an internal clock time, and associate a first timestamp with a glucose measurement, wherein the first timestamp is equal to the measurement time plus the first device delta time.

Abstract: A diagnostic system and method and an interconnected laboratory system comprising clinical diagnostic systems are presented. The diagnostic system comprises a controller programmed to monitor operational parameters (1-n) indicative of a performance status of the diagnostic system, to trigger a quality control procedure and/or a maintenance procedure whenever one or more parameters (1-n) of the operational parameters (1-n) is out of specification, and to minimize the quality control and/or maintenance procedures as long as the operational parameters (1-n) remains within specification.

Abstract: A system and method for managing information relating to requests for a number of tests to be made of at least one sample within a laboratory environment are disclosed. The system may include a sample reception unit, a pre-analytical unit to scan, sort and/or aliquot the sample on request according to respective test requirements included within a respective sample order, an analytical unit to run at least one test on a sorted and/or aliquoted sample, and at least one decision unit. The decision unit acts as a connecting component for interconnecting the sample reception unit, the pre-analytical unit and the analytical unit as both an intermediary and coordinator such that tests can be performed via a recursive workflow until the sample is completely measured. The decision unit is further configured to collate the test results appropriately with the sample and to give a respective report towards a host component.

Abstract: A switch for a conveying line for transporting a laboratory diagnostic vessel carrier is presented. The conveying line comprises a first line portion and a second line portion. Abstract: A method for saving and/or restoring settings of an instrument for processing a sample or reagent is disclosed. The instrument comprises a control unit and an operating system. A storage medium is provided to the instrument. The storage medium comprises a script. The script restores data for restoring settings of the instrument. The script is encrypted and/or digitally signed. The method verifies an identity and/or integrity of the script and executes the script upon starting the instrument by the operating system with the storage medium when the identity and/or integrity of the script correspond to an identity and/or integrity of the instrument. The control unit provides an input menu for allowing a user to input a saving and/or restoring command. The instrument saves settings on the storage medium and/or restores settings of the instrument from the storage medium by the restoring data corresponding to the saving and/or restoring command.
