Abstract:
The invention concerns a cabinet hinge with an adjusting device that is directly or indirectly on the cabinet side, single or multi-part mounting plate stored hinge arm, that is connected jointed with a door-side stop part, so that the adjusting device has a side adjusting screw by means of which the hinge arm's position perpendicular to the mounting plate can be changed to the door's side adjustment. The side adjusting device has a side adjusting screw with at least one eccentric- or cam disks so that by turning the side adjusting screw, a side adjustment and, at the same time, a parallel shifting of the hinge arm relative to the mounting plate occurs, resulting in a correction of the door's depth adjustment for an amount. The depth adjustment includes a depth adjusting screw, that is stored on the hinge arm or one of these connected assembly parts and has at least one eccentric- or cam disks that is supported on corresponding contact surfaces of the mounting plate and by turning the depth adjustment screw, a movement or shifting of the hinge arm relative to the mounting plate takes place for an amount.
Abstract:
A hinge adapted to pivotably connect a hinged member to a device housing is provided. The hinge is adapted to maintain the hinged member in one of an open position and a closed position relative to the device housing. The hinge includes a first hinge part having an axis and a cam follower. The first hinge part is adapted to be connected to one of the hinged member and the device housing. A second hinge part is provided which is aligned with and rotatable about the axis of the first hinge part. The second hinge part has a cam surface. The cam follower on the first hinge part contacts the cam surface. The cam surface has a first position and a second position. The second hinge part is adapted to be connected to the other of the hinged member and the device housing. A spring is provided which urges the cam follower against the cam surface with a spring force. The first and second hinge parts each have an axial bore defined therethrough. An axial load bearing connector extends through the axial bores to connect first and second hinge parts such that forces generated by the spring are reacted in the axial load bearing connector. The hinge is adapted to hold the hinged member in an open position relative to the device housing when the cam follower is in the first position.
Abstract:
A multiple level building comprising an elevator system in which an elevator car moves between floors within an elevator hoistway which contains a door providing access to the hoistway from a corridor at each floor. Seal structures are provided between the hoistway door and a hoistway wall structure to substantially prevent smoke and gas from passing into or out of the hoistway, and to block water from entering the hoistway. A transverse seal structure has a wall-mounted portion with an angled seal engagement surface relative to the hoistway wall, and a door portion with an angled seal mating surface facing toward the hoistway wall and spaced apart from the seal engaging surface of the wall-mounted portion. A seal is provided between the seal engagement surface and the seal mating surface to seal the transverse space therebetween to prevent smoke and gas to pass therethrough in the event of a fire when the hoistway doors are in the closed position.
Abstract:
In a position detector, a ring gear rotates with a motor output shaft and a specified rotation position is detected by a move contact and fixed contacts. When the output shaft rotates thereafter, holding a carrier by a wave washer is released and the transmission of rotation of the output shaft to the ring gear is dropped. Therefore, by rotating the output shaft sufficiently at the time of assembling, an initial state, in which a protrusion section abuts a protrusion and the move contact contacts the fixed contact, is set automatically.
Abstract:
A pivotal sliding bi-fold door structure mounted in a door frame having a track slidably accommodating the bi-fold door structure. The bi-fold door structure comprising at least two door panels pivotally connected by a hinge member. The improvement comprising a bi-fold door safety wedge including a main body structure. A pair of non-parallel edges on opposite sides of the main body structure facing away from each other and extending along the main body structure and nearly intersect to form a vertex at a front portion of the main body structure. Another edge extending between the non-parallel edges at a back portion of the main body structure. An elastic strap for removably elastically securing the main body structure to the hinge member, where the removable elastic securing strap has the characteristic of adjustably positioning the vertex of the main body structure in adjacency with the hinge member when the bi-fold door structure is in an open position. A non-slip surface portion located along the main body structure co-extensive with the pair of non-parallel edges thereby aiding to maintain an operational wedge-stopped position. The removable elastic securing strap further having the characteristic of enabling manual positioning of the main body structure to a non-wedged position adjacent a front side of the door panels thereby enabling the bi-fold door structure to be movable into the fully closed position.
Abstract:
A hinge includes a housing, a barrel rotatably engaged in the housing, a shaft extended in the housing and the barrel, two rings engaged on the shaft and movable along the shaft, springs engaged on the shaft for biasing the rings toward each other, one of the rings has a pair of helical surfaces, and the other ring has two projections for slidably engaging with the helical surfaces. The rings are separated from each other to compress the springs when the door is opened, and the rings are forced toward each other by the springs.
Abstract:
A side adjustable roller assembly for a sliding door comprises a housing containing a rotatable cam and a wheel carriage with a guide wheel mounted therein pivotally attached to the housing. The assembly is insertable into a recess in the edge of a door, being held therein by a slot in one end of the housing, and by a bend in a strip of spring steel attached to the housing at the other end which engage opposite ends of the recess, respectively. Contact of the cam surface with that of the wheel carriage controls the distance that the carriage can be pivoted into the recess by the door's weight, against the force of an associated spring urging the carriage away from the recess. The point of engagement of the cam surface with the carriage, and therefore the distance between the door's edge and the surface over which it is mounted, depends upon the degree of the cam's rotation, determined by adjustment of cam mounting trunions which can be accessed from the side of the housing.
Abstract:
A glass door leaf for elevator shaft and car doors has a glass pane connected at its lower edge with a guide shoe plate and at its upper edge with a hanger bracket. Eccentric pins with guide shoes are attached to the guide shoe plate and enter into a threshold profile for the sliding guidance of the glass door leaf at its lower end along the displacement path of the door. The glass pane is retained at the lower end between a lower base strip and a glass-retaining strip of the guide shoe plate and retained at the upper end between an upper base strip and the hanger bracket. Rubber bushings extend through apertures formed in the glass pane and encompass fastening nuts which are inserted from the elevator shaft side and are connected with welding pins attached to the base strips. A carrier holds a guide rail which extends along the displacement path and engages rollers which carry the glass door leaf and are mounted on the hanger bracket. A raised collar formed on each roller edge assures a secure guidance and prevents the glass door leaf from jumping off the guide rail.
Abstract:
A gravity swing door hinge includes flange guards for protecting the hinge from damage and a telescopic cover assembly for protecting the cam and eliminating pinch points between cam parts and between the door and the hinge body. The hinge may be flush mounted to a door jamb while providing a broad range of pivotal movement on each side of its closed position.
Abstract:
Improved cam hardware for use with a self-positioning door. The cam is attached to the door mounting post by a threaded connection and has a lower surface which is symmetrically inclined about a high point. The lower surface is contacted by a cam follower roller which is rotatably attached to the door jamb. When the door is opened and released, the cam coacts with the cam follower roller to cause the door to return to its original position where the high point is mated with the roller.
