    摘要: In the operation of an incremental measuring system, a measuring scale is scanned for generating periodic sinusoidal, analog measured-value signals. Digital countable signals are derived from the measured-value signals in conjunction with an electronic subdivision of the scale and are delivered to an electronic evaluating unit. Each countable signal is associated with a certain phase angle of the measured-value signals. For an electronic correction of position errors, predetermined signal levels are detected at a series of first points, which have an electrical spacing corresponding to a sub-incremental step constituting a fractional part of a scale increment, and these signal levels are alternatively detected at a series of second points, which have the same electrical spacing as the first points and are offset by a fractional part of this spacing, and in accordance with a correction program the measurement is selectively evaluated in response to the signal levels at these points so that corrections can be effected in steps corresponding to only a fractional part of such sub-incremental step.

    摘要: This disclosure describes digital control circuit to actuate an analog servo motor in response to digital information from a computer. The control circuit is responsive to the timing signal (13) from the computer, and includes a circuit (12) to receive information from the computer indicative of a new servo position. A feedback circuit (15) receives information from the servo indicative of the actual present servo position. Information processed individually by each of these circuits then is connected into a computational network (14) in order to generate a properly timed digital output signal which, when converted in a suitable digital-to-analog converter (17), is able to drive a servo motor accurately.

    摘要: A motion control system includes a single stage gear reducer and power screw, a brushless variable-speed electric motor with position and velocity sensing instrumentation, a solid state power amplifier, and a programmable controller. During operation an absolute positional reference is established when the slide actuates a non-contacting limit switch to signal that the slide is within less than one motor revolution of the correct starting point. A memory accessible by a microprocessor has paired values of velocity and position stored in a table representing ideal such values for deceleration portions of the motion cycle. Alternatively, the microprocessor computes each new value of position and velocity in real time as required to update the velocity commands sent to a comparator. The comparator compares the predetermined slide position to the actual slide position and signals the microprocessor that a change in output to the motor power supply is required. A digital to analog converter converts the motor velocity signal that issues from the microprocessor to a variable d.c. voltage whose magnitude varies over a range that determines the sense of direction and speed of the drive motor.

    摘要: A control system for vertical storage equipment requires only two sensing devices, in combination with a microprocessor controller, for positioning a selected article carrier at a specified work station. One sensor senses a reference mark having a direct speed and position relation with the carriers. The second sensor senses at least one reference mark mounted to a high speed member in the drive mechanism used to move the carriers. By sensing the high speed member, the resolution of the control system is greatly increased, thereby providing the control system with increased accuracy and versatility. A flywheel having a relative inertia greater than the total of the remaining moving parts is preferably employed to negate the influence of carrier loading conditions on control system smoothness and accuracy.

These selection indicators are scanned via an element of the scanning unit in order to allow selected ones of the reference marks to go into operation. Preferably, the scanning unit includes a record head for magnetically recording the selection indicators on the track, an erase head for magnetically erasing the selection indicators on the track, and a read head for magnetically detecting the selection indicators.

    摘要: A computer-controlled hydraulic press brake includes an actuator and control system which automatically provides variable pre-programmable ram opening and closing strokes. A microprocessor within the control system responds to stroke parameters entered by the operator and an encoder-generated signal indicative of ram position to generate a velocity command signal defining a velocity profile for positioning the ram to the stroke limits. Closed-loop servo systems associated with each ram cylinder respond to the velocity command signal to cause movement of the ram in accordance with the velocity profile. A ram leveling circuit responsive to individual position sensors associated with respective sides of the ram compensates for ram tilt by simultaneously applying complimentary correction signals to the respective servo systems. A second velocity profile may be generated in response to stored parameters to position a back gauge concurrently with ram movement by means of a second motor drive servo system.
