Abstract:
An oral care device such as an oral care implement or a toothbrush. The oral care device may include a handle and a head. The head may have a plurality of cleaning elements extending therefrom. The head may comprise an open space or cavity. A plurality of electrodes may be located within the open space or cavity. The electrodes may be coupled to a voltage source. The electrodes may be used to generate a chemical agent via the application of an electrical potential across the electrodes when in communication with an electrolyte. The chemical agents may include ozone, hydrogen peroxide, peroxide, chlorine hypochlorite, ions, peroxides, and/or other chemical agents.
Abstract:
An oral implement comprises a head (10) and a handle (12). The head (10) comprises a first face (14) and a plurality of cleaning elements (34, 36) extending therefrom, a proximal section (16) adjacent to the handle (12) and a distal section (18) remote from the handle (12). The head (10) further comprises a flexible bridge (20) coupling the distal section (18) to the proximal section (16), so that the distal section (18) is flexibly moveable relative to the proximal section (16). The flexible bridge (20) further comprises at least one elastomeric cleaning element extending from the first face (14); wherein the at least one elastomeric cleaning element extends along the flexible bridge (20) in a direction perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of the head (10).
Abstract:
A composition comprising 4-oxovaleric acid present in an amount of 0.05 to 1% by weight (as supplied) of the composition and leuconostoc/radish root ferment filtrate present at 0.2 to 2% by weight (as supplied) of the composition.
Abstract:
This invention provides core shell silica particles, wherein each core shell silica particle comprises a silica core, and a surface of the silica core etched with group I metal silicate. These core shell silica particles have high surface charge density and anti-bacterial activity. Also provided are compositions comprising core shell silica particles, process of making the core shell silica particles and methods of reducing or inhibiting bacterial activity by administering the core shell silica particles or compositions thereof.
Abstract:
A powered toothbrush apparatus with capacitive touch control, which includes a head portion having an oscillating tuft block driven by a motor, a handle portion, and an elastically deformable capacitive touch control panel mounted in the handle portion. In one embodiment, the control panel includes movable sensor targets each paired with a corresponding capacitance sensor electrically connected to a programmable microprocessor. Applying finger pressure on the control panel adjacent a sensor target operates to change the capacitance of the respective sensor target-sensor pair. The microprocessor detects the change in capacitance, which may be used to control the motor speed for changing the oscillation rate of the tuft block. In one embodiment, a linear array of sensor targets-sensors is provided which is activated by a sliding finger or thumb motion across the array. A related operating method is disclosed.
Abstract:
Described herein are oral care compositions comprising a crosslinked polyvinylpyrrolidone complexed with hydrogen peroxide, together with particular co-polymers as additional excipients; including some embodiments which further comprise a calcium abrasive.
