    Abstract: Apparatuses, systems, and methods for sounding reference signal (SRS) coverage enhancement. A user equipment device (UE) may receive a configuration for SRS time domain bundling from a base station and may transmit, to the base station, at least one SRS transmission in accordance with the configuration. The configuration may include an indication of (and/or indicate) one or more SRS transmission occasions. The configuration may be communicated via higher layer signaling or physical layer signaling. The RRC parameter may be an SRS-ResourceSet parameter or an SRS-Resource parameter and may include a nrofSlots parameter to indicate the number of slots, where a slot may correspond to an SRS transmission occasion. The MAC CE may include at least four bits indicating the number of slots. The DCI may include at least one field indicating the number of slots.

    Abstract: Machines or networked devices such as internet of things (IoT) devices operate to generate an unlicensed IoT (U-IoT) communication or enhanced Machine Type Communication (eMTC) based on frequency hopping operations on different channels. An anchor channel can be configured to carry system information and paging messages for the U-IoT/eMTC communication on the different channels. The system information and paging messages can include essential system information such as a system information block MulteFire (SIB-MF) message. Physical channels can be configured to enable component carriers anchored to a long term evolution (LTE) licensed band, and entirely comprise unlicensed carrier components that are unanchored to any LTE component carrier in a standalone configuration to enable transmission of the U-IoT communication in standalone communications in an unlicensed band.

    Abstract: Downlink transmissions can be generated to schedule one or more Internet of Things (IoT) devices for communication on unlicensed channels via frequency hopping operations/procedures. An evolved NodeB (eNB) or a next generation NodeB (gNB) can perform a listen before talk (LBT) on the unlicensed channels that are scheduled for transmission by at least one of: one or more IoT devices or one or more user equipments (UEs). A preamble or a common physical downlink control channel (CPDCCH) can be transmitted to reserve the unlicensed channels for the IoT devices/UEs. The preamble or the PDCCH can include a duration of the duration to provide notice to other eNBs/gNBs or trigger the IoT devices of a successful LBT corresponding to the unlicensed channels.

    Abstract: Technology for a user equipment (UE) using a self-contained scheduling resource to communicate with an eNodeB within a wireless communication network is disclosed. The UE can select, at the UE, a selected eNodeB transmission (Tx) beam and a selected UE reception (Rx) beam based on a highest power beamforming reference signal (BRS) received power (BRS-RP). The UE can signal a transceiver of the UE to transmit to the eNodeB a scheduling request (SR), using the selected Rx beam, on a scheduling request (SR) resource in a self-contained subframe according to a time and frequency location of the selected eNodeB Tx beam. The UE can process an advanced physical downlink control channel (xPDCCH), received from the eNodeB, for an uplink (UL) grant using the selected UE RX beam.

    Abstract: Systems and methods of beam reporting for multiple DL processes are described. A UE receives a beam management processes configuration that provides information about beam management reference signals for beam management procedures. The UE transmits a UE capability report that indicates beam management capabilities of the UE and, later, an indication of whether the UE intends to engage in beam refinement. The UE measures the beam management reference signals and receives a beam reporting message that indicates at least one of the beam management procedures to report. In response, the UE transmits the beam report. The beam report contains beam management reference signal measurements of the beam management procedures indicated by the beam reporting message.

    Abstract: An apparatus and method for frequency hopping in the unlicensed band are described. A NB-IoT UE receives a MIB from a RAN. The MIB includes a DL/UL configuration for communication with the RAN. Frequency hopping information is preconfigured in the UE. The MIB is received in an anchor segment of a fixed NB anchor channel in the unlicensed band. The frequency hopping sequence is determined based on timing information carried in a PBCH on the anchor channel. Data is communicated between the NB-IoT UE and the RAN in data segments on the data channels in accordance with the frequency hopping sequence.
