Abstract: Techniques are described for wireless communication. One method includes determining that a cell operates in a shared access radio frequency spectrum, and transmitting signaling information to a mobile device indicating that the cell is prohibited from serving as a primary serving cell based at least in part on the determination that the cell operates in the shared access radio frequency spectrum. Another method includes receiving signaling information at a mobile device from a base station indicating that a cell operating in a shared access radio frequency spectrum is prohibited from serving as a primary serving cell, and identifying the cell as prohibited from serving as a primary serving cell based at least in part on the received signaling information. Another method includes identifying, by a mobile device, a cell operating in a shared access radio frequency spectrum as a secondary serving cell based at least in part on information stored on the mobile device.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A receiving device may detect a signal associated with low latency transmissions and decode a non-low latency communication accordingly. The receiving device may receive an indicator from a transmitting device that indicates where and when low latency communications occur. The indication may specify frequency resources or symbols used by the low latency communication. The indicator may be transmitted during the same subframe as the low latency communication, at the end of a subframe, or during a subsequent subframe. The receiving device may use the indicator to mitigate low latency interference, generate channel estimates, and reliably decode the non-low latency communication. In some cases, the interfering low latency communication may occur within the serving cell of the receiving device; or the interfering low latency communication may occur in a neighboring cell.

Abstract: A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for wireless communication are provided. The apparatus generates a data transport block, divides the data transport block into a number of sub-blocks. The sub-blocks include at least a first sub-block and a second sub-block, where a size of the first sub-block is different than a size of the second sub-block. The apparatus may encode the number of sub-blocks using different code rates and/or different coding schemes. The apparatus may modulate the encoded sub-blocks using different modulation orders. The apparatus transmits the sub-blocks to a receiver.

Abstract: Uplink control channel management is disclosed for LTE/LTE-A communication systems with unlicensed spectrum in which two or more physical resource blocks (PRBs) are allocated for uplink control channel transmission. The uplink control information (UCI) payload may be determined based on clear channel assessment (CCA) information associated with carriers scheduled for transmission of the UCI data. With the UCI payload determined, two or more uplink control channel messages may be generated according to at least one control channel format, wherein uplink control channel messages include the UCI payload. These generated uplink control channel messages may then be transmitted over the allocated PRBs.

Abstract: Network discovery and synchronization for new radio (NR) shared spectrum (NR-SS) is discussed for a wireless network having a super frame configuration on a shared spectrum shared between a plurality of network operators. A base station may obtain a discovery preamble from a plurality of network entities within the wireless network, wherein each of the plurality of network entities belongs to one or more of the plurality of network operators and shares the super frame configuration. The base station detects the timing of the super frame configuration using the discovery preamble and may then synchronize the base station to the super frame configuration according to the detected timing.
