    摘要: A sensor for detecting changes in the dielectric constant of a liquid is described. The sensor has two electrodes immersed in the liquid with dielectric surfaces substantially parallel with each other, and a ramp disposed on a support between the electrodes. The ramp intersects the surfaces at obtuse and acute angles respectively and provides a surface disposed at an angle relative to an electric field extending between the two electrodes, thereby reducing parasitic effects of the sensed dielectric content of the liquid. Slots in the electrode adjacent the lower end of the ramp reduce the strength of the field proximate to the ramp and thereby further reduce the parasitic effects.

    摘要: A system and method for providing distributed, or remote, equipment unit service reporting over a network. A database on a host computer communicates with a remote distributor computer that generates a unit down report. Technical support personnel receives the unit down report, initiates corrective action, and provides corrective action data to the host computer. The unit down report is updated to include the corrective action data. Distributor computers and management computers are linked to the host computer. A management computer may provide backup service hardware and engineering product support as needed to the distributor or dealer. Access to data fields in the host computer may be limited. The unit down report may be stored to create a historical record and may be organized and searchable depending upon specified criteria.

    摘要: A method and apparatus for anodizing aluminum exhaust housings including the utilization of conducting rods placed through the narrow passages. The rods allow current to flow and anodizing coating to build up inside the narrow passages. The rods are insulated from the housing and are connected to a special end plate. The end plate has an insulating spacer between the housing and connecting plate and ensures that the rods are installed and spaced properly and that the current properly flows. The assembly is then degreased and rinsed. The clean assembly is then placed into an appropriate anodizing solution and connected to a current source until the coating sufficiently builds up. The assembly is then removed from the anodizing tanks and rinsed in a series of tanks of increasing temperature.

    摘要: According to the present invention, an edge filter for a pressurized fuel rail system having a plurality of fuel injectors from which pressurized fuel is fed to the injectors through a fuel inlet tube is disclosed. The edge filter has contoured leading and trailing ends that may be either spherical or conical to reduce turbulence in fuel upstream and downstream of the edge filter. The edge filter has inlet and outlet slots that are sloped between about 5% and 15% with the depth of the inlet slot decreasing as it approaches the outlet end and the depth of the outlet slot increasing as it approaches the outlet end.
