Abstract: A lighting device for a motor vehicle, having at least one light guide, which is formed planar, and having at least one illuminant. Abstract: Disclosed are methods and devices for autonomous movement of a vehicle in optimized dynamic driving state. A method comprises: detecting environmental data of a vehicle; calculations of a first travel path of the vehicle to a destination, and calculations of a vehicle state at at least one point of this travel path; detecting a driving instruction of a driver; determining a correlation value based on the driving instruction and the precalculated travel path and/or the precalculated vehicle state; checking whether the correlation value falls below a critical limit value; and if the correlation value falls below a critical limit value, converting a data point detected that is characteristic of the state and/or the driving instruction of the driver into a control signal. The control signal then may energize the vehicle on a second travel path leading to the same destination, wherein the vehicle adopts a stable vehicle state.

Abstract: The disclosure relates to a method for authenticating a user for using a reserved rental vehicle. In one embodiment, radio-signal-based primary authentication information is transmitted to an electronic input unit of the user and the user can be authenticated on the basis of a check of the primary authentication information using a server system outside the vehicle. Secondary authentication information based on optical image processing is transmitted, in addition to the primary authentication information, to the electronic input unit of the user and to an authentication unit of the rental vehicle. If the user could not be successfully authenticated for using the reserved rental vehicle using the primary authentication information, the user is authenticated for using the reserved rental vehicle on the basis of a check of the secondary authentication information using the authentication unit of the rental vehicle.

Abstract: Approaches, techniques, and mechanisms are disclosed for range data compression. According to one embodiment, a current range data frame for a current time point is generated. Each current range data cell in the current range data frame includes current ranges representing points in a point cloud in a 3D space for the current time point. Accumulated prior ranges in an accumulated prior range buffer are propagated from a prior time point to the current time point. Current ranges in the current range data frame are compared with the propagated accumulated prior ranges to determine range differences between the current ranges and the propagated accumulated prior ranges. A proper subset of current ranges in the set of current ranges is identified based on the range difference. The proper subset of current ranges is included in a range data signal excluding other current ranges not in the proper subset.

Abstract: the at least partially automatic longitudinal control of a transportation vehicle wherein sensor data are generated by a surroundings sensor system wherein the sensor data represent an environment. A computing unit is used, based on the sensor data, to determine a speed vector of a road user in the environment and to predict a potential collision of the road user with the transportation vehicle. Based on the speed vector, it is identified that the road user is moving substantially transverse to a direction of movement of the transportation vehicle and a target speed for the transportation vehicle is computed to avoid the predicted collision. The speed of the transportation vehicle is reduced automatically to the target speed.
