Abstract:
A method for providing read-only access to network element configuration data is provided. A request is received to access configuration data for a network element. In response to such a request, a communications session is initiated with the network element. Configuration data is then received from the network element. The configuration data is compared to configuration data for the network element previously stored in a database. If the previously-stored configuration is not identical to the received configuration data, the database is updated with the current configuration data for the network element. The configuration data is then transmitted in read-only format as a response to the initial request for network element configuration data.
Abstract:
A lid for a container holding a flowable substance wherein the lid has a body with a top wall, a side wall, and a mounting portion for connecting the lid on the container. The body has a drink opening and at least one retaining member positioned in the top wall in various positions with respect to the drink opening. The lid further has a closure member that is movable between a first position wherein a portion of the closure member is received in the opening, and a second position wherein a portion of the closure member is received in the retaining member. The opening and the closure member are cooperatively dimensioned such that the closure member is removably inserted in the opening. The retaining member and the closure member are cooperatively dimensioned such that the closure member is removably inserted in the retaining member.
Abstract:
A television system is provided which includes a display screen connected to or integrally formed with a broadcast data receiver (BDR). The BDR receives data from a broadcaster at a remote location and decodes the data to form video, audio and/or auxiliary data. At least part of the decoded data is used to generate first and second windows (4, 6, 8, 20, 22) on the display screen and one or more of the windows contain user selectable options. Upon user selection of a particular option (24) from the first window, at least a part of the first or second windows (4, 6, 8, 20, 22) are reconfigured, such that the at least part of the first window covers or disables a remaining part of the first window and/or a part or whole of the at least second window.
Abstract:
An apparatus, system, and method are disclosed for criteria driven summarization of trace entry data. The apparatus includes an interface module that receives summary criteria including a set of field identifiers, the field identifiers specifying particular segments of trace entry data to be summarized. A scanning module scans a set of trace entries, and a tabulating module tabulates a count for each set of unique values within the set of trace entries corresponding to the associated field identifiers. A results module generates one or more result sets including the tabulated counts. Additionally, summaries of trace data may be generated according to specified time stamp boundaries, time intervals, or trace entry type.
Abstract:
There is provided a powder formulation for nasal delivery including a protein having a molecular weight of 10 kDa or greater and chitosan or a derivative thereof or a salt of chitosan or a salt of a derivative of chitosan. Preferably the protein is human growth hormone.
Abstract:
A method for obtaining lineage committed human cells imbued with enhanced proliferative potential, biological function, or both, comprising culturing lineage committed human cells under physiologically acceptable liquid culture conditions, where the liquid culture medium is replaced at a rate and for a time sufficient to obtain the human lineage committed cells imbued with enhanced proliferative potential, biological function, or both; and isolating the cultured cells.
Abstract:
A method and system of transferring messages from a message source to a mobile station in a cellular system comprises assigning to each message a priority characteristic before the message is transmitted to mobile station. The message is then transmitted together with the assigned priority characteristic, depending on the priority characteristic. The priority characteristic is examined at the mobile station and the message is processed at the mobile station depending on the priority characteristic.
Abstract:
A material that can be applied as implants designed to artificially replace or augment the cornea, such as an artificial cornea, corneal onlay, or corneal inlay (intrastromal lens) is provided. The artificial corneal implant has a double network hydrogel with a first network interpenetrated with a second network. The first network and the second network are based on biocompatible polymers. At least one of the network polymers is based on a hydrophilic polymer. The artificial cornea or implant has epithelialization promoting biomolecules that are covalently linked to the surface of the double network hydrogel using an azide-active-ester chemical linker. Corneal epithelial cells or cornea-derived cells are adhered to the biomolecules. The double network has a physiologic diffusion coefficient to allow passage of nutrients to the adhered cells.
Abstract:
An input shaft brake is provided for a transmission. The input shaft brake may have a hydraulically or pneumatically actuated piston and may have a single brake disk or double brake disk that are disposed on one or both sides of an input shaft rotor is retained on an input shaft. The brake may alternatively be comprised of a rotor made with friction material and at least one member mounted for axial movement that engage one or both sides of the rotor when force is applied by a piston. Braking force is applied to the input shaft disk to allow for quicker shifting and synchronizer engagement.
Abstract:
An apparatus to repel non-raptorial birds and animals including but not limited to squirrels, rabbits, mice, rats, and deer from selected areas of a property. The apparatus, when placed in an area, convinces the birds and animals of the presence of a predator, a human being, and/or some other perceived threatening presence or a danger that self-motivates the birds and animals to avoid the area and prevents thus the contamination, defacing, and/or damage to the area from the bird feces or nesting and consumption and/or damage of garden plants, agricultural crops, trees, and/or shrubs by the other animals.
