摘要: Needle injectors and injector carriers for endothelial keratoplasty are provided. Needle injectors include first, second, and third portions each having a respective conduit therein. A first end of the second conduit is fluidly coupled to a second end of the first conduit, where the second conduit has a maximum diameter greater than a maximum diameter of the first conduit. A first end of the third conduit is configured to be fluidly coupled to a second end of the second conduit, where a second end of the third conduit is configured with a cutting surface for cutting and penetrating eye tissue. Injector carriers include a container, a cap configured to seal an opening of the container, and a coupling means configured to couple the needle injector to the cap and allow the needle injector to be disposed within the container.

摘要: A method for treating hyperopia or presbyopia in a patient, the method comprising making a cut deep in the patient's cornea to create a two-dimensional slit adjacent to and generally parallel to an anterior surface of the cornea and injecting a liquid or semi-solid transparent filler material into the deep cut in an amount sufficient to flatten the posterior surface of the cornea to increase the refractive power of the cornea by a predetermined correction of up to about 5 diopters due to the physical flattening of the posterior surface of the cornea, wherein the transparent filler material comprises a refractive index of about 1.3 to about 1.6, and forms a corneal implant with a lenticular shape within the cornea.

摘要: A method of corneal lenslet implantation with a cross-linked cornea is disclosed herein. In one or more embodiments, the method includes the steps of: (i) forming a two-dimensional cut into a cornea of an eye; (ii) creating a three-dimensional pocket in the cornea of the eye in tissue around the two-dimensional cut to gain access to tissue surrounding the three-dimensional pocket; (iii) applying a photosensitizer inside the three-dimensional pocket so the photosensitizer permeates at least a portion of the tissue surrounding the three-dimensional pocket to facilitate cross-linking of the tissue surrounding the three-dimensional pocket; (iv) irradiating the cornea to activate cross-linkers in the portion of the tissue surrounding the three-dimensional pocket, and thereby stiffen the cornea, prevent corneal ectasia of the cornea, and kill cells in the portion of the tissue surrounding the three-dimensional pocket; and (v) inserting a lens implant into the three-dimensional pocket through a small corneal incision.

The adjustable optic assembly includes a switchable optical lens assembly configured to change its optical power between a first state and a second state, a receiver configured to receive the transferable signal from the transmitter of the sensor assembly, a second electronic processor connected to the receiver which directs the switchable optical lens assembly to change its optical power between the first state and second state, and a second power source connected to the second electronic processor.

The body is flexible between a first flexed condition and a second unflexed condition. The body has a first radius of curvature in the first flexed condition and a second radius of curvature in the unflexed condition. Each tensioning feature is shaped and sized to grasp the ocular tissue within the irideocorneal angle.
