Abstract:
A vector for the oral administration of at least one pharmacologically active substance enabling the active substance to move from the intestinal lumen to the blood, optionally via interstitial liquid, without any substantial degradation of the substance, includes an essentially hydrophilic matrix having an outer surface which is modified by one or several chemical species providing the vector with an essentially lipophilic quality and containing one or several active substances. The vector is associated with a gastroresistant vehicle enabling it to pass into the stomach without any denaturation and/or degradation of the active substance. The invention also relates to pharmaceutical compositions containing the vector. The vectors can be used to produce medicaments used in human or veterinary medicine.

Here, a suite of methods and devices is provided, allowing the implementation of a strategy for Non-Invasive Prenatal Testing (NIPT) results validation in clinical practice: a package to perform NIPT analysis, a semi-supervised approach to create synthetic sequences and to estimate confidence intervals for aneuploidies prediction and a package to test the reliability of NIPT results based on confidence intervals. These new tools were validated on 2 cohorts including confirmed ancuploidies, demonstrating sensitivity and specificity of 100%. Thus, the invention relates to a method for assessing the fetal fraction (ff) and sequencing depth (sd) in NIPT; devices for implementing the method, computer program products and computer readable mediums. This result yields the conclusion that thresholds of ff, sd and E value need to be assessed for each data analysis pipeline, chromosome and cohort. The provided devices and methods are thus of wide interest as it allows to identify these thresholds in a laboratory—specific fashion to improve NIPT performances.

The invention relates to a bioreactor comprising a tank (100) capable of being operated for a working period, said tank (100) being intended to receive a culture medium comprising a cellular culture of photosynthetic microorganisms, a light source (200) arranged to emit incident light having a chosen incoming light intensity (Iin) in the direction of the tank, a temperature probe (400) for measuring the temperature of said culture medium in the tank, and a temperature regulator (500) capable of raising and lowering the temperature of said culture medium in the tank, and further comprising a control (700) of the temperature regulator arranged to adjust the temperature of the culture medium to a low setpoint value (VCB) during a first period, and to adjust the temperature of the culture medium to a high setpoint value (VCH) during a second period, the succession of said first and second periods making it possible to induce a cellular stress in at least some of said photosynthetic microorganisms during the working period.

A method for preparing a composition including mineral particles functionalized by at least one organic group and having a specific surface defined according to the BET method greater than 500 m2/g, involves: —choosing a phyllosilicate composition, including mineral particles having a thickness of less than 100 nm, a largest dimension of less than 10 μm and belonging to the family of lamellar silicates; —choosing at least one functionalizing agent, from the group formed from the oxysilanes and oxygermanes having at least one organic group, —bringing the phyllosilicate composition into contact with a functionalizing solution including the functionalizing agent, so as to obtain a phyllosilicate composition including mineral particles functionalized by the organic group, while choosing the organic group from the group formed from the cationic heteroaryl groups, the quaternary ammonium groups and the salts of same. The phyllosilicate composition obtained by the method is also described.

A system of additive-manufacturing by laser melting of a powder bed. The system includes a first laser unit selectively emitting a first laser beam to form at least one layer of material by melting the powder bed; a second laser unit selectively emitting a second laser beam to machine at least a portion of the layer of material; and an optical unit enabling to focus the first laser beam on the powder bed to be melted and the second laser beam on the layer of material to be machined. The system is able to produce a part by successive stacking of melted then machined layers of material. A process of additive-manufacturing by laser melting of a powder bed is also contemplated.

A mechatronic device includes two arms extending from a base in a first direction and shaped to be handheld by an operator, the two arms having free ends forming a gripper and arranged to move closer together by rotation from a rest position to an active position, a motor housed in the base, an actuator mounted between the arms, and a means for controlling said actuator, the actuator connected to the motor so as to be driven in movement in translation in the first direction. The actuator also has a first contact surface that forms a cam with a respective second contact surface on each arm, the first contact surface remaining engaged with the second contact surface. The control means controls the movement in translation of the actuator to produce a movement in rotation of the arms that applies a chosen force of the gripper in its active position.

This invention relates to a method for diagnosing and/or prognosticating HER2-dependent cancer in a subject, comprising a) measuring the amount of moesin in a sample from the subject; b) comparing the amount of moesin measured in step a) to a reference value; c) finding a deviation or no deviation of the amount of moesin measured in step a) from the reference value; and d) attributing said finding of deviation or no deviation to a particular diagnosis and/or prognosis of HER2-dependent cancer in the subject.

The invention relates to a bioreactor comprising a tank containing a culture medium in which a cell culture composed of algae cells is dispersed. The cell culture of algae has a concentration greater than 0.1 g/L in the culture medium, and each algal cell has a minimum absorption in a specific range of wavelengths of light. The bioreactor comprises a light source that is capable of emitting incident light in the direction of the tank, 60% of the photons of the incident light having a wavelength which is included in said specific range of wavelengths of light. The invention also relates to the use of the bioreactor for the production of biomass.
