Abstract:
There is disclosed a method for visualizing secondary structures of RNA molecules, by which nearly overlap-free polygonal displays of RNA secondary structures are produced with minimal distortion to structural elements, with minimal search for positioning them, and with minimal user intervention. While vector and vector space are used to determine the direction and space of a structural element, two heuristics are adopted for the task of searching for the space and direction of structural elements. With the aid of the two heuristics, loops are positioned in decreasing order of their sizes and a helix is positioned, depending on the position of its adjacent loop which has been positioned. In consideration of both a potentially open and wide vector space and an allowed vector space, a structural element is positioned.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a helmet or a safety cap for protecting the rider's head and a method of manufacturing the same, in which the main body of the helmet has a dual-structure so as to reduce work process when an outer surface of the helmet is painted, and weight thereof. The main body of the helmet has a dual-structure in that an outer surface thereof is formed of a thermoplastic for an aesthetic enhancement and an inner surface thereof is formed of FRP or a mixture of aramide fiber, polyethylene fiber, vinylon, carbon fiber. Thus-formed dual structure of the helmet body contributes to enhancement in impact resistance and convenience in painting, decreasing an overall weight of the helmet.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a solid-state laser which forms a high-energy and high-power laser beam with a high repetition rate and whose overall system can be optically aligned in a simple manner. The solid-state laser of the invention can be fabricated by means of reflecting the laser beam which is reflected by a phase conjugation mirror(PCM) using stimulated Brillouin scattering(SBS) in a direction that is incidented on the PCM again, concurrently with the arrangement of directions of emission and incidence of the laser beam by the aid of polarization beam splitter(PBS).
Abstract:
An adjustable cutter is devised to cut a wire trough. The adjustable cutter includes a handle, a cutting board, a blade, a connecting unit and a lever. The cutting board is connected to the handle. The connecting unit is connected to the blade. The connecting unit is pivotally connected to the handle so that the blade is pivotable relative to the cutting board. The lever is pivotally connected to the handle and used with the connecting unit to render the lever between a closed on and an open position relative to the handle. A screw hole is made in the handle. A screw includes a first end located in the screw hole and a second end in contact with the lever. The screw does not interfere with the movement of the lever toward the handle. The screw controls how far the lever is pivotable from the handle.

Abstract:
A reflector having an information generation function, wherein information allowing a quick and clear understanding of a traffic system and the surrounding environment thereof can be generated by a combination of unit reflectors recognizable by a light detection and ranging (Lidar) or radio detecting and ranging (Radar) system, is proposed. The reflector includes a plurality of unit reflectors for representing information through code generation, wherein each of the unit reflectors represents information by reflecting light beams or radio waves therefrom or transmitting the same therethrough, whereby binary-coded information is generated using the reflector, which allows a Lidar system or a Radar system to recognize the generated information.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical vaccine composition for a human cervical cancer, comprising: (a) (i) a L1 virus-like particle (VLP) of human papillomavirus (HPV) type 16, a L1 VLP of HPV type 18, or a combination thereof; and (ii) a deacylated non-toxic lipooligosaccharide (LOS); and (b) a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier; and a method for preparing a human papillomavirus (HPV) L1 virus-like particle (VLP). The pharmaceutical vaccine composition of the present invention is in both Th1-type immune response (cellular immunity) and Th2-type immune response (humoral immunity) against HPV more excellent than Cervrix™ and Gardasil™, exhibiting a superior efficacy as a vaccine for a human cervical cancer.
Abstract:
The present invention provides an energy storage system, particularly a battery system, that is capable of preventing self from overheating, comprising at least one energy storage unit each having two terminal posts extending outwards from the interior thereof; when there are at least two energy storage units, electrical connection therebetween is achieved by electrical connection elements that bridge the terminal posts of different energy storage units; at least one of the terminal posts and/or the electrical connection elements is in thermal connection with a heat transfer surface enlarging structure made of solid heat conductive materials. The present invention further relates to a method for preventing overheat of an energy storage system.
Abstract:
The present invention discloses an overheat prevention energy storage system preventing self from overheating, comprising a heat dissipating external surface, wherein at least a portion of the external surface is coated with at least one layer of heat dissipation coating of high emissivity. The present invention further discloses a method for preventing overheat of the energy storage system and a method for forming at least one layer of heat dissipation coating of high emissivity onto at least part of an external surface of the energy storage system or assemblies thereof.
Abstract:
A high-energy laser system intercepting a target using a phase conjugate mirror includes a laser oscillator which generates a laser beam irradiated to the target, a light amplifier which receives the laser beam irradiated to and reflected by the target so as to amplify it, a phase conjugate mirror which reflects the amplified laser beam. And the laser beam that is reflected by the phase conjugate mirror is amplified again in the light amplifier, and then irradiated to the target so as to intercept the target.
