Abstract:
A storage phosphor cassette including a shell having a cavity and a storage phosphor assembly having a substantially rigid plate. The rigid plate is adapted to be removably contained within the cavity of the shell and is also comprised of a material which is optically and/or radiographically transparent. A single storage phosphor screen is supported on one side of the substantially rigid plate such that both surfaces of the storage phosphor screen are optically and/or radiographically visible. In a preferred embodiment, the rigid plate can be comprised of one or more layers of clear acrylic, or at least one layer of glass disposed intermediate two layers of clear acrylic.
Abstract:
An algorithm residing in, for example the ECM of a motor vehicle, which predicts brake booster vacuum for vehicles using vacuum for brake pedal assist. The predicted brake booster vacuum is compared to a calibrated brake booster vacuum threshold to determine if adequate brake booster vacuum is available to meet vehicle braking requirements, whereupon engine operation can be modified, as necessary, to improve intake manifold vacuum such that brake booster vacuum requirements for vehicle braking are better satisfied.

A fountain-style carbonated soft drink dispenser includes a housing adapted to attach to a beverage container, an actuator for selectively opening a fluid conduit, and one or more long tubes that vary a pressure drop across the dispensing assembly and convey fluid. The resistance through the tube(s) is decreased as the pressure within the container decreases so as to maintain a substantially constant flow rate throughout dispensing.

A dispenser assembly that can be used as a dispenser on a container includes a dispenser body having a flow passage, and a porous flow control member positioned in the flow passage such that the liquid must pass through at least a portion of the porous flow control member before being dispensed. The porous flow control member is operable to vary a resistance to flow of the liquid through the dispenser assembly during dispensing. A valve is provided and is movable between an open position that allows the liquid to be dispensed and a closed position that prevents the liquid from being dispensed. A discharge spout directs the flow of liquid discharged from the container. A dip tube is attached to the dispenser body and extends inside the container to supply the liquid to be discharged to the dispenser body. An attachment portion is provided to attach the dispenser assembly to the container.

A microphone assembly include a microphone housing unit having a cover and a base. The microphone assembly further includes a preamplifier circuit assembly attached to the base and protected by the cover. The protected preamplifier circuit assembly has at least one terminal unprotected by the cover. A radio frequency interference suppression device can be electrically coupled to the preamplifier circuit and includes at least one internal ground electrically coupled to the at least one terminal. The at least one internal ground provides a ground path between the cover and the base.

A class of substituted 1,2,4-triazolo[4,3-b]pyridazine derivatives, possessing a fluoro-substituted phenyl ring at the 3-position and a heteroaryl-methoxy moiety at the 6-position, are selective ligands for GABAA receptors, in particular having high affinity for the &agr;2 and/or &agr;3 subunit thereof, and are accordingly of benefit in the treatment and/or prevention of disorders of the central nervous system, including anxiety and convulsions.
Abstract:
In accordance with the present invention, a radio frequency identification (RFID) device comprises a plurality of data fields. The RFID device transmits a data symbol from a data field, receives an acknowledgement symbol, and compares the transmitted data symbol to the received acknowledgement symbol. The RFID device repeats these steps until data transmission is complete as long as each transmitted data symbol is equivalent to a corresponding received acknowledgement symbol; otherwise, the RFID device maintains the data field from which the last data symbol was transmitted, and temporarily suspends data transmission. When the RFID receives a request for RFID devices temporarily suspended in a given data field to resume data transmission, if the given data field in the request is equivalent to the data field that was maintained, the RFID device repeats the steps above starting with the first symbol in the data field that was maintained.

A method and apparatus for feeding bristle bundle material into a magazine. The magazine is used in the production of brushes in which not all the bristle bundles extend in the same direction from the face of the brush. The feed apparatus for guiding the bristle bundle material from a supply to the magazine includes a number of transition plates having channels machined at an oblique angle to the surface of the plate. The plates each guide the bristle bundle material through a small angle; the assembled plates can guide the material through a large total angle so that the angle at which the bristle bundles enter the magazine is the same as the angle the bristles will have with respect to the brush.
