    Abstract: A method for making a rotary electric machine comprises the steps of: preparing a core (18) having a plurality of pole expansions and a plurality of windings (100, 200, 300) made of electrically conductive material on the pole expansions, where at least a part of the windings (100, 200, 300) is made from a conductor wire having a free end (14) that can be connected electrically to a mains power supply; stably coupling to each other at least two free ends (14) of different windings (100, 200, 300) so as to connect them to a single power supply terminal; twisting the coupled ends (14) together to form a single electrical termination (5, 6, 7) twisted along a principal line of extension of the electrical termination (5, 6, 7).

    Abstract: An electrical machine includes a casing including a base wall provided with a projection projecting from the base wall towards the inside of the casing. A stator includes a core having a plurality of pole shoes a plurality of conductors wound on the pole shoes to form a plurality of coils constituting a stator winding. Insulators are interposed between the core and the stator winding. A coil of the winding has an end portion engaged with the projection for heat exchange. The insulators include a housing for a first number of turns of the coil and a second housing for a second number of turns of the coil. The first and second housings are shaped such that a layer of the turns of the end portion abutted against the projection is defined by stretches of the conductors all substantially coplanar with each other.

    Abstract: An electric drive unit includes an electric motor, an inverter supplying electricity to the motor, a continuous current stage supplying electricity to the inverter, a controller including a modulator for driving the inverter controlled by a first digital signal representing the amplitude of the phase voltages to be applied to the motor and by a second digital signal representing the electrical frequency of the phase voltages. An analogue/digital stage calculates the optimum value of the advance angle (δopt) of the voltage applied to the motor relative to the counter-electromotive force (“CEMF”) as a linear function of the peak value of the phase current and an analogue/digital stage for measuring the angle (100 act) between the voltage applied to the electric motor and the phase current. The controller is programmed for estimating the angle (γact) between the phase current and the CEMF as the difference between δopt and φact.
