The light source unit includes a first LED package and a second LED package which are adjacent to each other, wherein each of the first LED package and the second LED package includes an LED chip, a lead frame which supplies current to the LED chip, and a housing which fixes the LED chip and the lead frame in place, wherein an end of the lead frame of the first LED package directly contacts an end of the lead frame of the second LED package.
Abstract:
A light source apparatus includes light-emitting blocks, a local dimming control part and a light source driving part driving. The light-emitting blocks include a first-color light source which emits first-color light and a second-color light source which emits second-color light. The second-color light source includes a third-color chip and a fourth-color phosphor disposed on the third-color chip, and is disposed as one package to emit the second-color light therefrom. The local dimming control part compensates a driving current of the first-color light source and a driving current of the second-color light source of each of the light-emitting blocks. The light source driving part drives the first-color light source and the second-color light sources based on the driving current of the first-color light source and the a driving current of the second-color light source, respectively, each compensated by the local dimming control part.
Abstract:
A light source module of a display device comprises light-emitting blocks each of which comprises multiple sets of light sources, with different sets emitting different colors (e.g. red, green and blue). Each set is independently controllable according to one or more driving parameters. A local-dimming method comprises: (a) in each color-dimming period, driving each light-emitting block by the first color-dimming process; (b) in each compensating period, driving each light-emitting block by a full-color process which is independent of the image; (c) in each compensating period, sensing emitted light and determining the one or more driving parameters' reference driving values operable to generate a reference color; (d) in at least one of the color-dimming and compensating periods, driving each light-emitting block using the one or more driving parameters' values which depend on the reference driving values; and (e) between a color-dimming period and an adjacent compensating period, gradually switching the light-source module between the first color-dimming process and the full-color process.
Abstract:
A backlighting assembly for an LCD display is divided into a plurality of selective dimming areas each having a respective plurality of light generating blocks. A plurality of driving units supply power to the light generating blocks. The light generating blocks are grouped into light source groups. Each of the driving units supplies power to at least one light generating block in a first light source group and a second light generating block in a second light source group but not to all the light generating blocks in any one light source group. Light generating blocks connected to a same driving unit may be distributedly arranged to be nonadjacent to one another. Plural driving units are used to fully power a brightly lit one dimming area, thereby reducing the loads on the individual driving units and preventing overheating.

Abstract:
A light source device includes a light source part, a power supply part and a light source control part. The light source part includes a plurality of light sources that generates a plurality of color lights. The power supply part applies electric power to the light source part. The light source control part controls the electric power by sensing the light intensity of a portion of the color lights.
Abstract:

The control circuit board and the main circuit board are electrically connected by the sub-circuit board, and the sub-circuit board amplifies the control signal received from the control circuit board and provides the control signal to the main circuit board.
Abstract:
In a method of local dimming a light source, which includes driving a light source including a plurality of light-emitting blocks by individually driving the light-emitting blocks, the dimming level of each light-emitting block is determined. In the method, the luminance of a first light-emitting area may be adjusted according to a size of the first light-emitting area corresponding to a display area in which an image having a maximum luminance is displayed.
