Abstract: Disclosed herein are methods and platforms using Receptor Compartmentalized Partnered Replication (CPR), in which the partner gene is a receptor, signal transduction pathway, or metabolic pathway that leads to the production of an effector molecule for the receptor or signal transduction pathway. The signal transduction pathway or receptor is coupled to the production of a thermostable polymerase. Emulsification of libraries of organisms with primers that can amplify the partner gene led to the selective amplification of those partner genes that were best able to produce the thermostable polymerase during thermal cycling of the emulsion.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method of Named Entity Recognition (NER) includes receiving an input, identifying a plurality of candidate entities corresponding to the input, assigning word embeddings to the input at an embedding layer, capturing sequential context of the word embeddings in an encoding layer to obtain encoded word embeddings, constructing an entity relation graph using global coreference relations and local dependency relations to obtain a coreference graph and a dependency graph, fusing the encoded word embeddings, coreference graph, and dependency graph, via a graphical neural network (GNN), to obtain updated word embeddings, and decoding the updated word embeddings via a decoding layer to obtain enriched entity predictions.

Abstract: A composite billet includes an array of textured-powder bars in a geometry that is compatible with assembly and drawing of a billet with LAR˜1:1. A method is presented of compressing the bars suitable for the billet geometry in an inert gas environment. Methods of drawing of the billet control the deformation of the composite billet during area-reducing draw to fine wire so that the shape and registration of the constituent bars is preserved. Lastly a method is disclosed to fabricate a cable-in-conduit conductor containing the textured-powder Bi-2212/Ag wires that enables robust forming of windings and also provides in-cable containment of a buffer gas flow under high pressure during the high-temperature heat treatment of the winding that is required to produce optimum superconducting performance in the winding.

Abstract: An embodiment of the invention includes an expandable implant to endovascularly embolize an anatomical void or malformation, such as an aneurysm. An embodiment is comprised of a chain or linked sequence of expandable polymer foam elements. Another embodiment includes an elongated length of expandable polymer foam coupled to a backbone. Another embodiment includes a system for endovascular delivery of an expandable implant (e.g., shape memory polymer) to embolize an aneurysm. The system may include a microcatheter, a lumen-reducing collar coupled to the distal tip of the microcatheter, a flexible pushing element detachably coupled to an expandable implant, and a flexible tubular sheath inside of which the compressed implant and pushing element are pre-loaded. Other embodiments are described herein.

The substrate having the polyelectrolyte complex applied thereon is treated. The treating reduces salt content of the polyelectrolyte complex. The treating results in a gas-impermeable coating being formed on the substrate.

Abstract: Disclosed are pathogenic mechanisms in pulmonary hypertension and molecular inhibitors of the same. Particularly, GSTP1 (glutathione S-transferase P1) have been demonstrated as having a role in regulating the endothelial ISCU function in pulmonary hypertension. Accordingly, methods for treating pulmonary hypertension in a subject in need thereof comprising administering a therapeutically effective amount of a pharmaceutical composition that inhibits glutathione S-transferase P (GSTP1) and/or increasing ISCU expression are disclosed.
