The first portion may have a differently shaped cross-section than the second portion. The first portion may have a cross-section of greater area than the second portion. The longitudinal axis of the first portion may be offset from the longitudinal axis of the second portion.

    摘要: A stent assembly comprises a stent and a side branch flap. The stent has a substantially tubular body which defines a primary lumen and is comprised of a plurality of interconnected stent members. Adjacent stent members define a plurality of stent openings that extend through the body and which are in fluid communication with the primary lumen. At least one stent opening is a side branch opening. The side branch flap is a non-tubular body having a planar structure. A first region of the planar structure is overlappingly positioned across a portion of the side branch opening prior to deployment. A second region of the planar structure is engaged to a portion of the body of the stent immediately adjacent to the perimeter of the side branch opening. When the assembly is deployed the first region of the flap is displaced radially outward from the side branch opening.

    摘要: An apparatus and method for closing an opening in a blood vessel wall is disclosed. The apparatus includes at least one member which is extended through a tissue tract formed through the epidermis and subcutaneous layer of skin and through the opening in the blood vessel. The member includes a proximal end and a distal end with the distal end being positionable proximate to the opening in the blood vessel wall. A positive electrode is positioned next to the distal end with a negative electrode being positioned next to the proximal end When the electrodes are energized an electric field is created therebetween, blood cells are attracted to the positive electrode, and a thrombus is formed at the opening in the blood vessel wall. The member may include a balloon at the distal end to temporarily occlude blood flow from the blood vessel to the tissue tract to facilitate formation of the thrombus. In addition, the shape of the balloon may be tailored to facilitate the formation of the thrombus including, but not limited to, the creation of pockets and self-supporting balloons
