摘要: Critical-mode soft-switching techniques for a power converter are described. In one example, a power converter includes a converter electrically coupled between an alternating current (AC) power system and a direct current (DC) power system, where the converter includes a number of phase legs. The power converter can also include a control system configured, during a portion of a whole line cycle of the AC power system, to clamp a first phase leg of the converter from switching and operate second and third phase legs of the converter independently in either critical conduction mode (CRM) or in discontinuous conduction mode (DCM).

摘要: A medical system for ablating a tissue site with real-time monitoring during an electroporation treatment procedure. A pulse generator generates a pre-treatment (PT) test signal having a frequency of at least 1 MHz prior to the treatment procedure and intra-treatment (IT) test signals during the treatment procedure. A treatment control module determines impedance values from the PT test signal and IT test signals and determines a progress of electroporation and an end point of treatment in real-time based on the determined impedance values while the treatment progresses.

摘要: Methods for treating tissue with irreversible electroporation and immunotherapy are described. The methods include placing a probe in tissue within a human body, wherein the probe has at least a first electrode, applying a plurality of electrical pulses through the first electrode and a second electrode, causing irreversible electroporation (IRE) of the tissue within a target ablation zone, and administering one or more exogenous agents into the tissue within the target ablation zone or to the human, thereby stimulating or otherwise modulating an immune system response within the body.

摘要: One aspect is a circuit for tuning a resonance frequency of an electrically small antenna and directly exciting the electrically small antenna. The circuit includes a first source configured for providing a constant voltage. The circuit also includes an antenna and a switched capacitor configured for being alternatively alternately coupled to the first source to be charged thereby and to the antenna for exciting the antenna. Another aspect is a transmitter for transmitting a wireless signal using an antenna without using a variable voltage source to excite the antenna. The transmitter includes a first source configured for providing a constant voltage. The transmitter further includes an antenna and a switched capacitor configured for being alternately coupled to the first source to be charged thereby and to the antenna for exciting the antenna and for tuning a resonance frequency of the antenna.

摘要: A power factor correction (PFC) power converter, particularly of a multiphase totem-pole or other topology presenting a switching bridge that can potentially provide bi-directional power transfer control, reduces a nominal switching frequency and achieves zero voltage switching over an increased portion of a half line cycle by providing positive or inverse coupling of inductors in an inductor structure that can be formed of a multi-layer printed circuit board such that at least three different inductances are presented during each half line cycle period; allowing increased switching frequency and simplifying EMI filtering arrangements. Parasitic capacitances can be balanced with additional coupled windings to reduce differential mode and common mode noise. The PFC power converter is particularly applicable to provide bi-directional power control from an on-board battery charger in an electrically powered vehicle.

摘要: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a storage medium, for processing radio signals. In once aspect, a system is disclosed that includes a processor and a storage device storing computer code that includes operations. The operations may include obtaining first output data generated by a first neural network based on the first neural network processing a received radio signal, receiving, by a signal transformer, a second set of input data that includes (i) the received radio signal and (ii) the first output data, generating, by the signal transformer, data representing a transformed radio signal by applying one or more transforms to the received radio signal, providing the data representing the transformed radio signal to a second neural network, obtaining second output data generated by the second neural network, and determining based on the second output data a set of information describing the received radio signal.

摘要: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for training and deploying machine-learned communication over radio frequency (RF) channels. One of the methods includes: determining first information; using an encoder machine-learning network to process the first information and generate a first RF signal for transmission through a communication channel; determining a second RF signal that represents the first RF signal having been altered by transmission through the communication channel; using a decoder machine-learning network to process the second RF signal and generate second information as a reconstruction of the first information; calculating a measure of distance between the second information and the first information; and updating at least one of the encoder machine-learning network or the decoder machine-learning network based on the measure of distance between the second information and the first information.

摘要: Sphingosine kinases are enzymes that catalyze the biosynthesis of sphingosine-1-phosphate. The invention provides compounds that are effective for inhibition of sphingosine kinase type 1, sphingosine kinase type 2, or both. Certain compounds are selective for sphingosine kinase type 2 relative to sphingosine kinase type 1. Compounds of the invention can be used in treatment of a range of diseases wherein increasing the level of sphingosine-1-phosphate in blood is medically indicated. Diseases that can be treated by administration of an effective dose of a compound of the invention include a neoplastic disease that involves excess vascular growth; macular degeneration or diabetic retinopathy; an allergic disease such as asthma, an inflammatory disease of the eye such as uveitis, scleritis, or vitritis; an inflammatory disease of the kidney; a fibrotic disease; atherosclerosis; or pulmonary arterial hypertension. A compound of the invention can be used to improve the integrity of a vascular barrier in a disease where the vascular barrier is disrupted, such as cancer or Alzheimer's disease.
