    摘要: A magneto-optical recording medium, a method for recording and reproducing data using the medium and a magneto-optical recording apparatus are provided in which an optical head reads the recorded data while applying a magnetic field, and the ill effect of the leakage magnetic field from the neighboring tracks can be suppressed so as to obtain a correctly read signal. The magneto-optical recording medium includes a recording layer, an intermediate layer and a reproduction layer. The signal recorded in the recording layer is read using a light beam irradiated externally and a magnetic field applied externally. The signal recorded in the recording layer is transferred to the reproduction layer via the intermediate layer. Marks are recorded so that each of leading and trailing edges of a recorded mark is substantially aligned with center portions of a recorded mark or a space of neighboring tracks, and the neighboring tracks have different polarities. When reproducing the marks, the signal including the recorded mark is read under the condition where the influences of the leakage magnetic fields from the neighboring tracks counterbalance each other.

    摘要: A PLL circuit used in an apparat as for reading and writing data to a disk compensates for noise which causes a false clock signal or for missing clock signals which can be caused by a scratch or smudge on the surface of the disc. The PLL circuit includes a phase comparator for comparing a phase of a reference signal with a phase of a feedback signal and generates a phase difference signal. A charge pump receives the phase difference signal and generates an output signal, which is filtered by a low pass filter. The filtered signal is provided to a voltage controlled oscillator, which generates an oscillation output signal. A divider divides the oscillation output signal and generates the feedback signal. A time information generating circuit generates time information of the oscillation output signal, indicating the time period where it is presumed the reference signal is or should be received. A control circuit, using the time information, permits the output of the oscillation output signal when the reference signal is input during the presumed time period and maintains the output of the oscillation output signal when the reference signal is not received during the presumed time period.

    摘要: A data reproduction apparatus of an optical disk having a maximum likelihood detection system for compensating a stationary edge shift and an edge shift depending on record pattern at the time of reproduction. The edge shift that has not completely been compensated at the time of recording in an optical disk is compensated by controlling an expected value in branch metric calculation of maximum likelihood detection while recognizing the pattern of record data at the time of reproduction.
