摘要: A data reproduction apparatus assuring compatibility of optical disks capable of reproducing both pit-position recorded data and edge-position recorded data in optical disks by digital operation by using digital values obtained by sampling reproduction signals. A reproduction signal obtained by an optical head is converted into a digital value by a first A/D converter, and on the basis of the converted digital value, pit-position recorded data is recorded by a pit-position detector. Moreover, the reproduction signal obtained by the optical head is converted into digital values by first and second A/D converters, and on the basis of the converted digital values, front edge and rear edge maximum likelihood decoded data of edge-position recorded data are detected by first and second maximum likelihood detectors, and both maximum likelihood decoded data are synthesized by a synthesizer.

摘要: A data reproduction apparatus of an optical disk having a maximum likelihood detection system for compensating a stationary edge shift and an edge shift depending on record pattern at the time of reproduction. The edge shift that has not completely been compensated at the time of recording in an optical disk is compensated by controlling an expected value in branch metric calculation of maximum likelihood detection while recognizing the pattern of record data at the time of reproduction. The edge shift amount is measured on the basis of the reproduction signal relative to the VFO area of the optical disk, and an expected value compensation table for showing an optimum expected value in branch metric calculation is selected preliminarily according to the measured amount. Thereby, the pattern of record data in the data area of the optical disk is recognized, the optimum expected value according to the recognized pattern of record data is determined by referring to the selected expected value compensation table, and the branch metric calculation is operated by using the optimum expected value.

摘要: The sector formats of adjacent record tracks are made different from each other so that a region of an ID signal of a header part of one of the record tracks is adjacent to a region (VFO part) other than an ID signal of a header part of the other record track and the regions of ID signals are not adjacent to each other. A crosstalk component from the VFO part which is the closest pattern is so small that it little affects the reproduction of an ID signal. Therefore, an ID signal is correctly reproduced.

摘要: A wrist portion assembly for a workpiece feeding apparatus of a seam welding machine wherein a workpiece is supported through a chucking device on an operational end of a robot so that a portion of the workpiece to be welded is fed between a pair of upper and lower electrode rolls. The wrist portion includes plural turnable members. At least one of the turnable members which serves to move the chucking device upwardly and downwardly by the turning thereof is formed into an idle turnable member having no driving source.
