    摘要: The present invention is directed to an ultrasound imaging system and method for Doppler processing of data. The ultrasonic imaging system efficiently addresses the data computational and processing needs of Doppler processing. Software executable sequences in accordance with a preferred embodiment of the present invention determines the phase shift and the auto-correlation phase of filtered image data. In a preferred embodiment, the system of ultrasonic imaging also includes a sequence of instructions for Doppler processing that provides the functions for demodulation, Gauss Match filtering, auto-correlation calculation, phase shift calculation, frame averaging, and scan conversion implemented with Single Instruction Multiple Data (SIMD) or Multiple Instruction Multiple Data (MIMD) instructions. In a preferred embodiment, the ultrasound imaging system of the present invention includes a processing module; and memory operable coupled to the processing module, wherein the memory stores operational instructions that cause the processing module to map serial data to vector representation, calculate an auto-correlation function of the data, calculate a phase shift of the auto-correlation function to generate a monotonic function covering all values of the phase shift corresponding to a range of Doppler velocities and display the resultant images, for example, as color images.

    摘要: A single chip adaptive filtering system including an FIR filter and circuitry for calculating updated weighting coefficients for use in associated multiplying digital-to-analog converters. The adaptive FIR filter performs the convolution of a delayed and sampled input sequence to produce a filter output. Thereafter, an error term is determined by calculating the difference between the filter output and a reference signal which corresponds to a predetermined anticipated output of the filter. The error term is then applied to a least mean square (LMS) estimation algorithm for computing updated weighting coefficients to be used by the adaptive FIR filter.

    摘要: A beam forming and focusing processing circuit for use in an ultrasound imaging system. The system incorporates a plurality of the processing circuits which differentially delay imaging signals in order to generate an output in which the imaging signals from each circuit implement the desired differential delay. Each of the processing circuits include a first delay line having a plurality of delay units operable for receiving the imaging signals and converting same into sampled data. A selection control circuit is operable for reading the sampled data from a selected first delay unit of the first delay line so as to correspond to a selected first time delay to accommodate fine delay resolution of the imaging signals. A second delay line having a plurality of delay units is operable for sensing the sampled data from the selected first delay unit. The control circuit is further operable for reading the sampled data from a selected second delay unit of said second delay line so as to correspond to a selected second delay time to accommodate coarse delay resolution of the imaging signals. The processing circuits are preferably integrated onto a single microchip.
