摘要: A medical headlamp and camera system having an articulated linkage-and-headlamp assembly, including an articulated linkage supporting a headlamp and a video camera, which produces a first video data signal. A headband assembly, supporting the articulated linkage-and-headlamp assembly, and including at least one battery port, supporting a battery, and further including an electrical network, including a microcontroller, that supplies electrical power to the headlamp, in reliance on computations performed by the microcontroller, from the battery and also delivers electrical power from the battery to the video camera. Also, a data compression network, is electrically connected to the video camera and receives the first video data signal and compresses it into a compressed data signal, Finally, a wireless transceiver supported by the headband assembly and electrically connected to the data compression network wirelessly transmits the compressed data signal.

摘要: Systems and methods are provided for supporting an arm of a user that includes a harness configured to be worn by the user, and an arm support coupled to the harness and including an arm rest to support an arm of the user. The arm support is configured to accommodate and follow movement of the arm without substantially interfering in such movement. The arm support may at least partially offset a gravitational force acting on the arm as the user moves and the arm support follows the movement of the user's arm. For example, the arm support may transfer at least a portion of the weight of the user's arm to the torso or other region of the user's body and/or may apply an opposing force to at least partially offset the gravitational force acting on the arm.

摘要: The present invention provides a fingerstall-cannulated guide device for accurate and efficient guide wire placement for antegrade femoral nailing systems. The said device comprises a fingerstall with a cannulated guide connected with or without a threaded guide wire. Using this device, surgeons can determine the entry point for the guide wire fast and accurately by tactile hand-eye coordination. After correct entry point is obtained, the guide wire is advanced and the fingerstall-cannulated guide can be easily detached. The device and method can accomplish the following: (1) reduction of the surgery time; (2) reduction of the radiation exposure times, and (3) reduction of the soft tissue damage during surgery. The device is also beneficial for use in fastening together any or all portions of bone surrounding a fracture site.
