    Abstract: A multi-radio wireless device capable of communicating on several wireless communication protocols (WCP) such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. while avoiding on-device interference between radios operating using different WCPs. The device may measure an isolation value between radios during a calibration phase. During runtime operations, if a transmit activity is detected, the device may set a maximum receive gain using the expected transmit power and the isolation value. If a receive activity is detected, the device may set a maximum transmit power using an expected receive gain and the isolation value. The maximum receive gain and/or transmit powers may be obtained from a lookup table matching receive gain values to reference values where the reference values are a combination of transmit powers and isolation values.

    Abstract: Devices, systems, and methods provide synchronization of multiple voice-controlled devices to establish priority of one of the devices to respond to an acoustic signal, preventing other devices from responding to a single user command. Each device is configured to mediate its response to a wakeword by, after detecting the wakeword in an audio input, generating a data packet and attempting to send it to the other devices over a communication channel that prevents data collision. One device will succeed in sending the packet, while the other devices cannot until they receive the first device's packet, indicating that the first device has priority. Additionally, the devices may process their audio inputs to determine a signal quality, the signal qualities are shared between all devices, and the device with the best signal quality assumes priority.

    Abstract: A system and method for network channel selection is provided. A device includes WIFI, ZIGBEE, and BLUETOOTH communication controllers. The device's processor is configured to determine, using the communication controllers, a WIFI channel designated for communications and a first set of ZIGBEE channels designated for communications. The processor is configured to determine that a number of available BLUETOOTH channels that do not overlap the WIFI channel or any in-use ZIGBEE channels is less than a threshold number of BLUETOOTH channels required for communication using a BLUETOOTH protocol. The processor then determines the WIFI channel has a minimum duty cycle from among duty cycles of the WIFI channel and each ZIGBEE channel, determines a first BLUETOOTH channel that at least partially overlaps the WIFI channel, and causes the BLUETOOTH communication controller to transmit data using the first BLUETOOTH channel.

    Abstract: Devices, systems and methods are disclosed for allowing a media device to select a preferred configuration and send instructions to a remote device to connect to the media device using the preferred configuration. For example, the media device may choose between a direct configuration (e.g., media device communicates with the remote device directly via a first wireless network associated with the media device) or an indirect configuration (e.g., media device communicates with the remote device via a second wireless network associated with an external access point). The media device may select the preferred configuration based on data rates and/or airtime values determined based on the first wireless network and the second wireless network. Prior to connecting using the preferred configuration, the remote device may determine a frequency channel corresponding to the preferred configuration and may instruct a remote control to connect to the remote device using the frequency channel.

    Abstract: Described are techniques for configuring a group of audio devices in communication with an access point to provide an audio output. Values indicative of the data throughput for communication between each audio device and the access point may be determined. The audio device having the greatest data throughput value may be designated as the master audio device. A value indicative of the airtime that would be used to distribute audio data using to the group of audio devices using the designated master audio device may be determined based on the data throughput values associated with each audio device. If the airtime value is less than a threshold airtime value, the audio data may be provided to the audio devices. If the airtime value exceeds the threshold airtime value, a notification may be generated indicating the relationship between the airtime value and the threshold airtime value.
