    Abstract: Techniques are described for dynamically tuning mobile device antennas. Input derived from multiple sources and representing a variety of scenarios is provided to the RF modem of a mobile device. The modem is configured to select antenna tuning settings based on this input, each of which tunes the antenna by modifying its impedance as appropriate for the corresponding scenario.

    Abstract: A multi-radio wireless device capable of communicating on several wireless communication protocols (WCP) such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. while avoiding on-device interference between radios operating using different WCPs. The device may measure an isolation value between radios during a calibration phase. During runtime operations, if a transmit activity is detected, the device may set a maximum receive gain using the expected transmit power and the isolation value. If a receive activity is detected, the device may set a maximum transmit power using an expected receive gain and the isolation value. The maximum receive gain and/or transmit powers may be obtained from a lookup table matching receive gain values to reference values where the reference values are a combination of transmit powers and isolation values.

    Abstract: Techniques for harmonizing wireless communications performed by a computing device which communicates using varying wireless communication standards are described herein. For instance, a computing device may include multiple chipsets with associated antennas that are configured to perform wireless communications using separate wireless standards which operate at overlapping frequencies. To avoid performance degradation experienced in simultaneous use cases with communications operating at overlapping frequencies, the multiple chipsets may be configured with logic to determine which communications are prioritized when multiple chipsets attempt to communicate simultaneously. The multiple chipsets may be communicatively coupled to coordinate their communications by prioritizing certain types of communications over other types of communications to avoid simultaneous communications in overlapping frequencies. In this way, multiple chipsets that communicate using different standards at overlapping frequencies may avoid performance issues experienced in simultaneous use cases, while performing the communications which are of a highest priority level.

    Abstract: A wireless communication device may reduce a receive sensitivity in the face of a high number of interfering communications to improve uplink throughput. In a listen-before-talk scenario, a device detecting a large number of undesired received communications may not transmit uplink data in the face of crowded traffic conditions. To avoid this scenario, if a desired communication link has a sufficiently high RSSI, a device may reduce its receive sensitivity to reduce the number of detected undesired communications while maintaining sufficient quality of the desired communication link. This approach will increase uplink throughput and improve communication performance.

    Abstract: A first device may establish wireless connections with multiple devices using a single channel. The first device acquires reception data about these multiple devices that is indicative of a device identifier and received signal strength at the first device. Based on the reception data, a receiver gain is determined. A wireless network interface is configured to use the receiver gain. As a result, communication between the first device and the multiple devices is improved.
