    摘要: An isolated hyperthermostable .beta.-galactosidase gene derived from Pyrococcus furiosus is described. Examples include DNA sequences shown in SEQ ID NO. 2 and SEQ ID NO. 4 and DNAs hybridizable with these DNAs. A method of cloning the hyperthermostable .beta.-galactosidase gene in which each of the above sequences or portions thereof is used as a probe or primer is described. A process for producing a hyperthermostable .beta.-galactosidase by culturing a transformant into which a plasmid containing each of the above genes has been introduced is described. A particularly preferred gene encodes an SDS-resistant hyperthermostable .beta.-galactosidase.

    摘要: In an engine system with a reformer being installed in an exhaust pipe to reform a fuel, a control valve for controlling a flow rate of exhaust gas is provided downstream from an installed position of the reformer in the exhaust pipe. In the engine system with the reformer, since a part of the exhaust gas can be trapped in a space between the reformer and an engine chamber by closing the control valve during an exhaust stroke, the reforming efficiency of the reformer can be heightened.

    摘要: An engine system includes a medium which chemically repeats storage and release of hydrogen to provide an engine system where CO2 emissions can be suppressed and system efficiency is excellent. The engine system includes a hydrogen supply device for producing hydrogen rich gas from a medium which chemically repeats the storage and release of hydrogen, and drives an engine using the hydrogen rich gas produced in the hydrogen supply device as one of the fuels. This engine system is characterized by comprising a waste heat supply device for supplying waste heat of the engine to hydrogen supply device, a generator which generates electricity by power of the engine, an energy storage device for storing electric power produced by the generator, and a motor for converting electric power discharged from the energy storage device into power.

    摘要: An engine system with a reformer, wherein an unreformed fuel is reformed by the reformer mounted in an exhaust pipe, and wherein a reformed fuel containing hydrogen is supplied to an engine. The engine system with a reformer includes a controller which, when the hydrogen generated by the reformer is supplied to the engine, determines a target heat generation beginning timing in accordance with a load applied to an engine, an engine speed, and an air excess ratio of an air-fuel mixture, and which controls an ignition timing of the engine so that a difference between a current heat generation beginning timing and the target heat generation beginning timing of the engine is within a predetermined range.
