Reframing circuitry controls communications between a physical layer device and a link layer device. In a first direction of communication, the reframing circuitry receives a container frame with the container frame having a first arrangement of columns, and outputs a virtual container frame that includes a modified version of the container frame received by the reframing circuitry, with the modified version of the container frame having a second arrangement of columns different than the first arrangement of columns. For example, the reframing circuitry in generating the modified version of the container frame may remove a path overhead column of the container frame and replace that path overhead column with a stuff column in the modified version of the container frame. The virtual container frame may be configured to include the path overhead column that was removed from the container frame in generating the modified version of the container frame.

Apparatuses, systems, and computer program products that detect and/or index characters of videos are disclosed. One or more embodiments comprise an apparatus an apparatus having a feature extraction module and a cast indexing module. The feature extraction module may extract features of a scale invariant feature transform (SIFT) for face sets of a video and the cast indexing module may detect one or more characters of the video via one or more associations of clusters of the features. Some alternative embodiments may include a cast ranking module to sort characters of the video, considering such factors as appearance times of the characters, appearance frequencies of the characters, and page rankings of the characters. The apparatus may associate or partition the clusters based on a normalized cut process, as well as detect the characters based on measures of distances of nodes associated with the features. Numerous embodiments may detect the characters based upon partitioning the clusters via solutions for eigenvalue systems for matrices of nodes of the clusters.

The present disclosure provides an electronic device having a USB interface and a method for starting USB communication with such an electronic device, so as to solve the problem of a risk of damaging a mobile phone terminal device arising from sharing of an interface by a charger and a USB communication cable in the related art. In the electronic device, a port GPIO of a baseband chip is connected to a pin USB_VBUS of a USB interface of the baseband chip; based on this circuit, a power management chip detects a state of plugging-in-or-pulling-out of the charger and generates a corresponding interrupt request; and the baseband chip controls the GPIO to output a corresponding level according to the interrupt request. By connecting the port GPIO and the pin USB_VBUS and controlling an output level of GPIO with a software, a high level or a low level (as a triggering signal for starting or terminating the USB communication) is input to the pin USB_VBUS, thus avoiding damage to the device.

A heating apparatus of an induction furnace used for stretching large-diameter preformed rods of optical fibers, said heating apparatus of the induction furnace comprising a furnace casing, a graphite exothermic sleeve, an insulating layer and an induction coil. At the upper end of the graphite exothermic sleeve is provided a floating seal gland, the inner bore thereof being adapted to the upper end of the graphite exothermic sleeve, and the outer periphery of the floating seal gland being adapted to the top cover plate furnace hole of the furnace casing. The use of the floating seal gland increases furnace stability and prolongs furnace life.

Methods and apparatus are disclosed to index digital frames. An example method includes identifying channel types associated with a plurality of image frames, splitting each one of the plurality of image frames into a respective color channel based on the identified channel types, applying a local binary pattern to each of the respective color channels to generate a respective pattern number, generating a spatial representation of each respective pattern number to determine transition probabilities for each channel type, and identifying a degree of similarity between the plurality of image frames based on the transition probabilities.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for increasing the efficiency of inducing pluripotent stem cells, and more particularly, to a method for increasing the efficiency of inducing pluripotent stem cells by utilizing genes Jhdm1b and Jhdm1a that modify histone. By utilizing Jhdm1b, Jhdm1a, and a stem cell inducing factor, the present invention increases the efficiency of inducing pluripotent stem cells and increases the quality of induced pluripotent stem cells. The stem cell inducing factor is a combination of Oct4 and Klf4, or a combination of Sox2, Oct4, and Klf4, or a combination of Oct4 and Sox2, and Oct4 alone. The method of the present invention further comprises exposing the cells to vitamin C, which further increases the efficiency of inducing pluripotent stem cells as compared with the case where no vitamin C is used. By using less stem cell reducing factors, the method of the present invention reduces the potential carcinogenicity, obtains a high inducing efficiency, and provides high-quality induced pluripotent stem cells capable of germ-line transmission.
