Abstract:
A bow hunter's mitten comprising a pair of side portions which define an upper edge, lower edge, forward end, and a rearward end. The mitten is designed to permit the bow hunter to insert his or her shooting hand into the mitten while the mechanical release is attached to the hunter's wrist. The forward end of the mitten has an opening formed therein to permit the end portion of the release to be extended therethrough for attachment to the bow string of the bow.
Abstract:
A cache having dynamic cache memory allocation is provided. A cache memory stores a plurality of data blocks, each block belonging to one of a plurality of data sets. A cache directory maintains a list of entries associated with the data blocks stored in the cache memory, wherein each entry corresponds to an individual data block and has fields for storing information including a designation of the data set to which the corresponding data block belongs. A directory controller generates each entry when the corresponding data block is loaded in the cache. The directory controller inserts the generated entry into the list at the optimal insertion point for the data block's data set, which is derived from a calculated optimal single-reference residency time for that data set. Further, the directory controller moves an entry in the list to the insertion point for the given data set of a corresponding data block when the corresponding data block is referenced in the cache. A storage control unit for storing data blocks within the cache memory replaces in the cache memory the data block corresponding to the bottom entry of the list with the data block corresponding to an entry inserted into the list.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for applying a thin film of a liquid to a vibratory plate arranged on an edge of a vibratory compactor. The apparatus for applying the thin film of liquid includes a container assembly for holding the liquid adjacent the plate. Liquid is preferably supplied to the container assembly under the influence of gravity. An element for maintaining intimate contact between a thin liquid film and a front surface of the plate as the thin film moves downwardly along the plate surface is arranged within a lower portion of the container assembly. The element is arranged adjacent to an outlet from the container provided along substantially the entire width of the front plate. The thin liquid film flows from the container as a low velocity laminar flow along the surface of the plate in the form of a liquid sheet. The liquid remains in contact with the plate surface due primarily to surface tension as the liquid moves downwardly.

Abstract:
A wireless mobile router (140) includes wireless network interfaces (202) and (218) attached to a network controller (142). The wireless network interface (202) communicates with a cellular network (110) to access cellular network services. The wireless network interface (218) and the network controller (142) comprise a WLAN (170) or PAN (180) and a network router hosting a plurality of client devices. Each client device may access a wide area network, WAN over the cellular network. The wireless mobile router (140) is configured to exchange various cellular network signals with various WLAN and PAN networks. The wireless mobile router (140) is particularly suitable for use in a vehicle or at locations where WAN access is not readily available.
Abstract:
An ophthalmic solution is provided. The ophthalmic solution includes an ultraviolet-A absorber and an ultraviolet-B absorber. The ophthalmic solution has a viscosity of between about 1 and 100 cps. The ophthalmic solution can be used to absorb ultraviolet radiation in the eye.
Abstract:
A method provides information about stations in an irrigation system which are simultaneously active. An irrigation flow curve image is displayed which summarizes flow information for an irrigation system. The method interacts with a user to receive an indication from a user interface pointing device of a position within a flow curve area of the irrigation flow curve image on the display. The method retrieves detail information for stations in the irrigation system which are simultaneously active at a time indicated by the position of the user interface pointing device. Detail information is displayed isolating the stations in the irrigation system which are simultaneously active at the time indicated by the position of the user interface pointing device, wherein the detail information further individually indicates irrigation activity for stations which are simultaneously active at the time indicated by the position of the user interface pointing device.
Abstract:
A computer-implemented method, apparatus and article of manufacture is provided for displaying traffic flow data on a graphical map of a road system. The graphical map includes one or more segments and the traffic flow data represents traffic conditions on a road system. A status of each segment on the graphical map is determined, wherein the status corresponds to the traffic flow data associated with that segment. An animated traffic flow map of the road system is then created by combining the graphical map and the status of each segment. The animated traffic flow map is created by being continuously rendered in real time. The traffic flow data is updated in real-time, and the traffic flow map immediately reflects the updated traffic data.
Abstract:
The present invention relates generally to structural studies of the insulin binding site of the insulin receptor (IR) and the insulin-like growth factor 1 receptor (IGF-1R). More particularly, the present invention relates to the crystal structure of the low affinity insulin binding site of the IR ectodomain comprising the C-terminal region of the IR α-chain, as well as the corresponding region of IGF-1R, and to methods of using the crystal and related structural information to screen for and design compounds that interact with or modulate the function of IR and/or IGF-1R.
