摘要: An initial channel access message such as a Random Access Channel (RACH) preamble is used to mean that not only that a channel access has been requested by a mobile station (500) but also that a particular type of service has been requested. By associating a type of service (e.g., Dispatch, web browsing, etc.) with the particular signature that is used to form the RACH preamble it speeds up the service negotiation process. Both the communication system (600) and the MS (500) know what service is associated with which signature, so as soon as a RACH preamble is received by the system, it can determine if it has the resources available to accommodate the request.

摘要: A method and apparatus for entering a low power mode is provided. In one embodiment, data processing system (10) has power control circuitry (52) which may be used to control power usage in data processing system (10). Power mode select circuitry (84) may be used to select a power mode. 摘要: A mobile communication device (102) receives information in a broadcast control channel (108) including a page message (108). The mobile communication device measures certain parameters (210) of the control channel, such as received signal strength, channel quality, and the present automatic gain setting. These parameters are scored and weighted (300) to produce a signal quality metric (314) to determine the duration of time the mobile communication device can remain in a low power state to conserve battery charge before checking for page alert message in the broadcast control channel next.

摘要: Disclosed herein are exemplary embodiments for automatically capturing images in a mobile electronic device. One embodiment comprises sensing device motion and automatically triggering image capture when the device is stationary. Use of this approach reduces image blur and avoids the need for subsequent image alteration or compensation for camera motion. Images can simply be captured in-between motions by leveraging high-resolution sensors and computational assets available to the mobile device to accurately assess when to trigger the shutter. Images can then be saved in a memory within the device. Enhancements to the disclosed method of automatic image capture include pre-selecting a set of threshold values for image acceptance.

摘要: Systems, methods, and computer media for determining the angle of a target object with respect to a device are provided herein. Target object information captured at approximately the same time by at least two cameras can be received. The target object information can comprise images or distances from the target object to the corresponding camera. An angle between the target object and the device can be determined based on the target object information. When the target object information includes images, the angle can be determined based on a correlation between two images. When the target object information includes distances from the target object to the corresponding camera, the angle can be calculated geometrically.

摘要: Modified compression/decompression and metadata in burst mode images reduce the storage space consumed by burst mode images. Metadata is added to image files (e.g., EXIF files) to establish links between images in a burst mode image series. A series of linked burst mode images can include delta images representing a temporal difference between the image data (e.g., pixel data) for two burst images captured at different time instances. Difference information can be compressed. A root image for a linked burst mode series can be identified and used as a reference for other burst images. Metadata can be added to image files to link burst images prior to compression, after compression, or at an intermediate stage of compression of image data. Difference information for delta image files can be derived prior to compression, after compression, or at an intermediate stage of compression of image data.

摘要: Systems, methods, and computer media for separating audio sources in a multi-microphone system are provided. A plurality of audio sample groups can be received. Each audio sample group comprises at least two samples of audio information captured by different microphones during a sample group time interval. For each audio sample group, an estimated angle between an audio source and the multi-microphone system can be estimated based on a phase difference of the samples in the group. The estimated angle can be modeled as a combined statistical distribution that is a mixture of a target audio signal statistical distribution and a noise component statistical distribution. The combined statistical distribution can be analyzed to provide an accurate characterization of each sample group as either target audio signal or noise. The target audio signal can then be resynthesized from samples identified as part of the target audio signal.
