Abstract: In a vehicular camera, a light receiving area of a light detector is arranged to receive light incident thereto via a lens and is arranged such that a predetermined portion of the light receiving area is located along the inclination direction of the inner surface of a windshield. A housing supports the lens and stores the light detector such that the lens faces the inner surface of the windshield, and the optical axis of the lens intersects with the inner surface of the windshield at an angle selected from a predetermined angular range including a right angle. The focal length of the lens is set within a range expressed by the following equation: (V/11.43)≤f≤(V/2.48) where f represents the focal length, and V represents half of a length in millimeters of the predetermined portion of the light receiving area along the inclination direction of the inner surface of the windshield.

Abstract: A camera device includes a holder in which an optical member is retained and a circuit board with an image sensor. The circuit board at least includes a stack of a solder resist, a metallic layer, and a resinous layer. A groove or recess is formed in the circuit board to have a depth extending through thicknesses of the solder resist and the metallic layer to expose a portion of an outer surface of the resinous layer. The holder is attached to the exposed portion of the outer surface of the resinous layer using an adhesive agent. An overflow stopper is formed at least round the recess to stop the adhesive agent from flowing outside the recess during a production process, thereby enhancing the degree of joining of the holder and the circuit board, and ensuring the stability in positional relation between the image sensor and the optical member.

Abstract: An optical lens device forms a condenser lens having a first lens of a positive focal length and a second lens of a negative focal length. The first and second lenses are stacked with their optical axis aligned. The first lens has a lens section, edge section and glass member having a linear expansion coefficient smaller than that of the lens section and the edge section to suppress shape change of the first lens due to temperature change of the first lens. The second lens, which is stacked with the first lens, is used for offsetting a change of the positive focal length generated in the first lens when the temperature varies. The glass member having a small linear expansion coefficient suppresses that shape change of the first lens which is not compensated by the second lens.
