摘要: A vehicle suspension control system comprises an actuator device for connection between a sprung mass of a vehicle and unsprung masses of the vehicle. A suspension system further comprises a device for determining forces acting between the sprung mass and the unsprung masses and for producing signals proportional to said forces, the device for determining forces comprising a first sensor device operable to produce a first set of signals comprising signals indicative of the loads in load paths between the unsprung masses and the sprung mass and a second sensor device operable to produce a second set of signals which includes signals indicative of the lateral acceleration of the vehicle, the longitudinal acceleration of the vehicle, and the yaw rate of the vehicle; a device for processing the second set of signals to produce steady state force signals indicative of steady state input loads on the vehicle including loads arising from cornering and acceleration/deceleration of the vehicle and loads carried by the vehicle; a device for combining the steady state force signals with the first set of signals to produce dynamic force signals indicative of dynamic inputs to the vehicle, the dynamic inputs including forces arising due to purgibations on a road below the vehicle. The control system further includes a first device for processing the steady state force signals to produce first control signals for controlling the actuator device, or by the first control signals act to control the actuator device to maintain the orientation of the sprung mass relative to a reference plane constant throughout vehicle cornering and acceleration/deceleration and constant with changing interior loads; and a second device for processing the dynamic force signals to produce second control signals for controlling the actuator means, whereby the second control signals act to control the actuator device to substantially eliminate the transmission of dynamic forces from the unsprung masses to the sprung mass.

摘要: An apparatus for measuring the yaw rate of a vehicle, comprising a device for measuring the velocity of the vehicle, a device for measuring the lateral acceleration of the vehicle, and a device for measuring the steering angle of the vehicle, a correction device, and a yaw gyrometer. The correction device acts to remove bias errors from the output of the yaw gyrometer. The correction device also estimates the bias errors when the velocity of the vehicle is within a tolerance of zero or when both the steering angle of the vehicle is within a tolerance of zero and the lateral acceleration of the vehicle is within a tolerance of zero.

摘要: A boat lift that is collapsible into a plurality of segments for quick and convenient transportation and storage during the off-season. The boat lift comprises a frame and a boat-engaging carriage that is movable on the frame between an elevated position and a lowered position. The frame forms an inclined track upon which the carriage traverses and comprises two spaced siderails, and a front and rear brace member. The front brace member comprises two segments that are each pivotally attached to a respective siderail. The segments are selectively removable from one another to permit the segments to be folded back adjacent their respective siderails. The rear brace member is selectively removable from the siderails so that the frame member may be collapsed into three separate segments. The carriage is removable from the frame and may be collapsed in a similar manner.

摘要: A self-locking screw (30) assures uniform mating and locking between its threads (64) and those (70) of an article (68) into which the screw is threaded. A head (34) includes a central portion (54) and an annular outer portion (52) which surrounds the central portion and which carries the screw threads on its periphery. Slots (18) extend through the head to a base (32) to segregate the head into segments (40). Annularly configured joints (60) respectively join the segments of the outer portion to the central portion and include tubular openings (56, 58) which extend from the joints and which are positioned between the segments of said central and outer portions. A hole (42) including cylindrical (44) and conical (46) portions respectively extend through the base and the head, and from the tubular hole portion and through the head. A bolt (72), including a cylindrical shaft (74) and an enlarged head (76) with a conical surface (78) which joins said head to said shaft and which engages the conical hole portion, first pivots both the central portion and the outer portion segments as a unit about the base to initially lock an upper portion of the screw threads and the article threads together, and then pivots the outer portion segments with respect to both the central portion segments and the base as a unit to lock together the remaining screw threads with substantial uniformity and the threads of the article.

摘要: An active vehicle suspension system has a suspension device with a variable offset gas spring and a double acting hydraulic actuator acting in parallel. Load changes experienced by the device are sensed electrically, or electrically and hydraulically, so as to effect appropriate response of the device by adjustment of the actuator pending change of the offset of the gas spring, so as to reduce energy requirements.
