The present invention relates to method and system for providing online information in a networked user environment in which an end-user runs an application program and transmits data to an online server while running the application program. It is proposed to provide a request-button at the end-user application program dedicated to requesting information, and in particular help-information. When a help request is received at the communication server, a communication channel is promptly established between end-user and an agent. Information about the user activities sent in one or more transaction parts of an end-user intended business process and performed in the current application program session is read from the storage in the application server and is provided to the terminal of said agent in the help center. Advantageously, the same communication channel as used for performing the transactions is used for voice transmission for providing help or other information to the end-user.

A method and apparatus for incorporating feature substances into a still moist but already sufficiently consolidated paper web provides for directing a feature substance suspension onto the surface of the paper web as a laminar jet with low jet pressure. A special pressure control circuit ensures that the jet pressure is always constant regardless of the number of parallel feature substance suspension jets directed onto the paper web. This makes it possible to incorporate a great variety of line codings in paper under the same process conditions without any visible changes in fiber structure occurring in the paper.

A system and method of generating a link between a note of a digital score and a realization of the score are provided. To do so, a digital score is processed to generate an onset curve. The onset curve is then filtered to generate a first series of first time intervals, which each have a significant number of onsets. A realization of the digital score is also processed to generate a second series of second time intervals, which each have a significant dynamic change of the realization. The first and the second series of time intervals are then correlated to produce the link.

In order to detect security documents irrespective of their individual graphic designs, a method and apparatus are provided in which the presence of certain structural elements common to a variety of different security documents are analyzed without analyzing the whole printed image or comparing it for identity with the stored printed image. For example, the structural elements may be curved colored lines present in a certain minimum density of a surface, or intertwined line structures known as guilloches. The document to be copied is scanned as in any normal copying operation and the structural elements identified by electronic pattern recognition in order to determine whether copying is to be permitted, without requiring additional detection elements.

Security paper with narrow band luminescing authenticity characteristics which can only be excited in substantially the same wavelength region in which it also emits. With these authenticity characteristics therefore the authenticity signal is overlapped or covered by the test signal of several orders of magnitude stronger. The authenticity of the security papers cannot accordingly be tested with the normal processes or devices for determining of luminescence. The test devices used take advantage of the decay behavior of the luminescence emission for detection. The authenticity characteristics can be added to the paper material, the printing ink used, further mottling fibres or security threads.

Security papers with luminescing authenticity characteristics built in or printed thereon which absorb in the visible region of the optical spectrum but in the infrared have a transparent region in which the luminophore also emits. By the absorption in the visible undesired parasitic emissions are suppressed which would make the luminophore visually evident on corresponding excitation. For testing the authenticity of the document the emission is investigated in the infrared. Suitable luminophores are rare earth metal luminophores in suitable host lattices, particularly in ferrite lattices or garnet lattices, which contain transition metal ions as absorbing elements.
