Abstract: An integrated aircraft landing and taxi light includes upper and lower reflector regions in the shape of substantially circular segments and a central longitudinal third reflector region extending between the upper and lower reflector regions. Landing light LEDs are arranged within the upper and lower reflector regions and the outer portions of the central longitudinal reflector region with the diagonals of the LED dies oriented substantially along radial lines extending outward from the center of the light. Taxi light LEDs are arranged within the central and outer portions of the central longitudinal reflector region such that the sides of the LED dies are oriented substantially horizontally and vertically with respect to the aircraft.

Abstract: A multi mode aircraft beacon light comprises a mounting portion for mounting the multi mode aircraft beacon light to an aircraft fuselage; at least one visible light source for emitting a visible beacon light output; a plurality of infra-red light sources for emitting an infrared beacon light output; an orientation sensor; and a controller, coupled to the orientation sensor for receiving an orientation sensor signal from the orientation sensor. The controller is configured to determine a mounting orientation of the multi mode aircraft beacon light from the orientation sensor signal, wherein the mounting orientation is indicative of whether the multi mode aircraft beacon light has an upper fuselage mounting position or a lower fuselage mounting position; and to selectively operate the plurality of infrared light sources, depending on the mounting orientation of the multi mode aircraft beacon light.

Abstract: An exterior aircraft light that can be used on an aircraft includes a dome-shaped light transmissive cover, a light emission assembly, and an interface assembly. The light emission assembly comprises a light emission tower portion, having a cover-facing end and an opposite aircraft-facing end and having a hollow channel extending between the aircraft-facing end and the cover-facing end, a platform portion, and at least one light source and at least one optical element, arranged on the platform portion. The interface assembly extends through the hollow channel of the light emission tower portion and comprises an elevated base, which is configured for mechanically supporting and electrically connecting an electric component, the electric component being at least one of a data reception component, a data transmission component, and a data generation component. The interface assembly further comprises at least one signal line, which extends from the elevated base through the interface assembly.

Abstract: An aircraft beacon light unit has an operating light emission distribution. The operating light emission distribution has a first light emission opening angle of at least 150° in a first cross-sectional plane, and a second light emission opening angle of at most 180° in a second cross-sectional plane orthogonal to the first cross-sectional plane. The aircraft beacon light unit is configured in such a way that it is mountable to an aircraft with the first cross-sectional plane being oriented in a vertical direction and the second cross-sectional plane being oriented in a horizontal direction, and the first light emission opening angle extends at least 75° both above and below the second cross-sectional plane.
