    摘要: A display device including a plurality of optical modulators and a plurality of filter elements on a reflective side of the plurality of optical modulators is provided. The plurality of optical modulators includes a first set of optical modulators and a second set of optical modulators. Each optical modulator of the plurality of optical modulators is configured to be selectively switched among at least a first state, a second state, and a third state. Each state has a different spectral reflectance. The plurality of filter elements includes a first set of filter elements corresponding to the first set of optical modulators and a second set of filter elements corresponding to the second set of optical modulators. The first set of filter elements has a different spectral transmittance than the second set of filter elements.

    摘要: The present invention is directed to a method of using function blocking tissue factor antibodies to enhance graft survival in mammals. Function blocking antibodies having the effect of blocking activated tissue factor (TF), TF and its ligand FVII as either the inactive TF:FVII or active TF:FVIIa complex, or block the formation of the TF:FVIIa:FX ternary complex are useful in the method. These properties provide a therapy that has directed action towards thrombotic events involving tissue-plasma interactions but does not prevent the intrinsic pathway for coagulation. Activated TF arises on cells, tissues, and organs during or after transplantation and is a major cause of graft loss.

    摘要: A normally white (NW) twisted nematic liquid crystal display (LCD) outputs improved viewing characteristics which are defined by high contrast ratios and/or reduced inversion. The display includes a pair of negative tilted retarders (#2 and #6) located on one side of the liquid crystal layer (#10), each of the tilted retarders including a tilt or incline angle which varies throughout the thickness of the layer. Additionally, one or two negative uniaxial or biaxial retarders (#4 and #7) are provided on the same side of the liquid crystal layer as the tilted retarders. As a result of the particular orientations, alignments, and retardation values described in the different embodiments, the display exhibits improved contrast and reduced inversion.

    摘要: A normally white twisted nematic liquid crystal display is provided for outputting improved viewing characteristics which are defined by high contrast ratios and reduced inversion. The display includes both positive and negative retardation films, the negative films being biaxial and defined by n.sub.x >n.sub.y >n.sub.z in certain embodiments where the "z" direction is substantially perpendicular to the film plane and the "x" and "y" directions are substantially parallel to the film plane. By providing the positive and biaxial negative retarders with specific retardation values and/or ratios, improved viewing characteristics are provided. According to other embodiments, a positive and a negative (uniaxial or biaxial) retarder may be provided on only one side of the liquid crystal layer.

    摘要: A liquid crystal display and corresponding method are provided for reducing display image reflections off of a reflection point on an external medium (e.g. cockpit canopy or automotive windshield). A retarder is provided on the front side of the display so that the polarization direction of the display image is substantially parallel to the plane of incidence when the image reaches the reflection point. Additionally, the angle of incidence .THETA..sub.i is substantially matched to the Brewster angle .THETA..sub.p in order to maximize the reduction of reflection at the reflection point. The retarder has a retardation value of from about 220-320 nm according to certain embodiments, and is a 1/2 .lambda. retarder according to preferred embodiments.

    摘要: Devices, systems, and methods are disclosed which utilize lightweight agents on a mobile device to detect message-based attacks. In exemplary configurations, the lightweight agents are included as contacts on the mobile device addressed to an agent server on a network. A malware onboard the mobile device, intending to propagate, unknowingly addresses the lightweight agents, sending messages to the agent server. The agent server analyzes the messages received from the mobile device of the deployed lightweight agents. The agent server then generates attack signatures for the malware. Using malware propagation models, the system estimates how many active mobile devices are infected as well as the total number of infected mobile devices in the network. By understanding the malware propagation, the service provider can decide how to deploy a mitigation plan on crucial locations. In further configurations, the mechanism may be used to detect message and email attacks on other devices.

    摘要: A method of powerline communications including a first node and at least a second node on a powerline communications (PLC) channel in a PLC network. The first node sends a physical layer (PHY) data frame on the PLC channel including a preamble, a PHY header, a MAC header and a MAC payload. The MAC header includes a Cyclic Redundancy Check (CRC) field (MH-CRC field). The second node receives the data frame, parses the MAC header to reach the MH-CRC field, and performs CRC verification using the MH-CRC field to verify the MAC header. If the CRC verification is successful, (i) the second node parses another portion of the MAC header to identify a destination address of the data frame and (ii) to determine whether the data frame is intended for the second node from the destination address.
