Abstract: Provided are a method and device for implementing hierarchical virtual private LAN service, the method comprising: acquiring the group attribute information of at least one remote provider edge (PE), each group attribute information carrying a group identifier of the corresponding remote PE; according to the group identifier of each PE, determining a pseudo wire (PW) group where a PW between PEs belongs, the PW group comprising a horizontal split group or a redundancy protection group; according to the PW group, determining a service forwarding path, thus solving the problem of a complex configuration process and high cost in the implementation of HVPLS via BGP-AD; in addition, when a network topology changes, the PW between the remote PEs is automatically added to the corresponding horizontal split group or the redundancy protection group without any configuration change or static addition, that is, without manual configuration.

Abstract: In a route processing method, a first network device obtains one or more routes having a same destination address, and including a first route. Slice information corresponding to the one or more ports is determined based on one or more ports that are on the first network device and that receive the one or more routes. The first network device sends an updated first route to a second network device, where the updated first route carries the slice information and the destination address. After a route is received, corresponding slice information is determined based on a port that receives the route, so that slice information supported by a path from a network device to a route starting device is determined. The determined slice information is carried when the route is forwarded, so that a network device on a route advertisement path can obtain the slice information supported by the entire path.

Abstract: This application provides an information processing method. A first communication apparatus is configured with a BGP EPE function, a BGP session is established between the first communication apparatus and a third communication apparatus, and no BGP session is established between the first communication apparatus and a second communication apparatus. In this case, the first communication apparatus may obtain, by using the third communication apparatus, a route advertised by the second communication apparatus. The next hop of the route is the second communication apparatus. After receiving the route, the first communication apparatus allocates a BGP peer SID, and stores a correspondence between the BGP peer SID and the next hop. When receiving a packet including the BGP peer SID, the first communication apparatus may forward the packet to the next hop based on the correspondence.

Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided. The method includes: a first network device sends route information of a destination network device, where the route information includes a destination address of the destination network device, a primary next-hop address, and a backup next-hop address, the primary next-hop address includes a common address of the first network device and a second network device, for example, a loopback address, and the backup next-hop address includes an address of the first network device, for example, an IP address of the first network device. By using this method, when a fault occurs in a connection between the second network device and the destination network device, another network device may directly send a packet to the first network device according to the backup next-hop address, to ensure normal packet forwarding.

Abstract: A first network device includes a processor and a memory having instructions stored thereon that, when executed by the processor, cause the first network device to: obtain a first virtual private network (VPN) route sent by a second network device. The first VPN route includes first identification information that uniquely identifies a first VPN instance in the second network device. The first network device is also caused to generate a second VPN route according to a second VPN instance accessing a third network device and the first VPN route. The second VPN route carries second identification information and routing information of the first VPN route. The second identification information uniquely identifies the second VPN instance in the third network device. The first identification information is different from the second identification information. The first network device is further caused to send the second VPN route to the third network device.
