    Abstract: A system for generating an incrementally completed security mark includes a computer-readable medium encoded with a computer program. The computer program includes computer readable code for selecting a carrier object; computer readable code for selecting a number of steps in a workflow associated with the carrier object and a security level for each step in the workflow; computer readable code for determining available carrier object candidate areas to which to write information at each step in the workflow; and computer readable code for determining a number of bits to be input at each step in the workflow based upon the respective security levels and the available candidate areas. The system further includes memory and a processor operatively coupled to the memory and to the computer-readable medium.

    Abstract: Examples associated with user authentication are described. One example method includes authenticating a user of a device using a static authentication technique. A behavior profile associated with the user is loaded. The behavior profile describes a pattern of device usage behavior by the user in a three-dimensional space over a time slice. The behavior profile also identifies distinctive user habits. Usage of the device is monitored, and a behavior similarity index is periodically updated. The behavior similarity index describes a similarity between the usage of the device and the pattern of device usage behavior. The behavior similarity index is weighted based on the distinctive user habits. Access to the device is restricted when the behavior similarity index reaches a predefined threshold.

    Abstract: Fluid classification may include: receiving sensed data for the fluid; modeling the sensed data in a frequency domain; synthesizing a model of the sensed data from the frequency domain to a time domain response and converting the time domain response to a time frequency graphical representation in the form of a color map. Predetermined characteristics of the time frequency graphical representation are identified through computer vision and compared to at least one corresponding signature characteristic of a predetermined fluid type to identify the fluid as a fluid type.

    Abstract: An example method is described in which a processor receives a first plurality of symbols selected from a first set of symbols, translates the first plurality of symbols into a second plurality of symbols selected from an M-ary cyclic symbol set, and writes the second plurality of symbols to a surface. An additional example method is described in which a processor captures an image of at least a portion of a surface, detects a first plurality of symbols from the image, where the first plurality of symbols comprises symbols selected from an M-ary cyclic symbol set, translates the first plurality of symbols into a second plurality of symbols selected from a second set of symbols, and performs at least one task responsive to the second plurality of symbols.
