摘要: There is provided a lubricant which is produced by dissolving a sorbitan ester compound in a solvent such as hexane or toluene. In the sorbitan ester compound, at least one of hydroxyl groups of 1,5-sorbitan is linked by ester linkage to a perfluoro polyether having a terminal carboxyl group and at least an other hydroxyl group is linked by ester linkage to a hydrocarbon having a terminal carboxyl group. There is also provided a thin magnetic metal film type magnetic recording medium or a coated magnetic recording medium in which the above lubricant is held on the surface of a magnetic layer. The lubricant exhibits superior lubricating effects under all conditions and is capable of maintaining the lubricating effects for prolonged time. Consequently, the magnetic recording medium which has the lubricant held on the magnetic layer exhibits superior running durability and resistance against abrasion.

摘要: A device for securing a fuel assembly to a nuclear reactor pressure vessel comprises upper and lower tie plates for supporting the fuel assembly at its lower and upper ends, spacers for supporting the fuel assembly at intermediate portions between the both tie plates, a channel box surrounding the fuel assembly, and a stationary handle attached to the upper tie plate. A movable handle is attached to the stationary handle to be vertically slidable with respect thereto and the movable handle is always urged downwardly by a coil spring. Hook members are connected to the stationary handle to be rotatable in accordance with vertical movement of the movable handle such that the lower end of the hook member engages with an upper grid of the pressure vessel when the movable handle is lowered to a low portion and disengages therefrom when the movable handle is lifted to an upper position.

摘要: A printer comprises an ink-jet head, and a control unit which has a judgment pattern printing control section. When a judgment pattern is printed, the judgment pattern printing control section allows the discharge of ink droplets of a second color to an area on which ink droplets of a first color are to be landed, before discharging the ink droplets of the first color having a small color difference with respect to a color of a medium. Accordingly, the ink discharge malfunction is reliably judged for the nozzle irrelevant to the color of the recording medium and the color of the ink discharged from the ink-jet head.

摘要: An ink supply device includes an ink cartridge and a cartridge mounting portion including a first detector, a second detector, and a determiner. The ink cartridge includes a first detectable portion, a second detectable portion, and a third detectable portion. The determiner is configured to execute a first determination process in which it is determined whether or not the second detector detects the second detectable portion when the first detector initially detects the first detectable portion during an insertion of the ink cartridge into the cartridge mounting portion, and the determiner is configured to execute a second determination process in which it is determined whether or not the second detector detects the second detectable portion when the first detector stops detecting the first detectable portion during the insertion of the ink cartridge into the cartridge mounting portion.
