    摘要: A multiplexed driving method of an optical switching element employing ferroelectric liquid crystal with a negative dielectric anisotropy including signal electrodes and common signal electrodes arranged in matrix and a ferroelectric liquid crystal layer disposed therebetween so as to constitute pixels at the respective facing portions of the signal electrodes and the common signal electrodes comprising a step of applying a common writing signal voltage to one of the common signal electrode to select pixels to which information be written, simultaneously applying a common status holding AC signal voltage to the other common signal electrodes covering non-selected pixels and simultaneously applying one of two signal pulses with opposite polarities to the signal electrodes, whereby resultant information writing voltages formed in combination of the common writing signal voltage and the signal pulses, which are enough to determine the orientation of the ferroelectric liquid crystal molecules, are applied on the selected pixels and resultant AC status holding voltage formed in combination of the common status holding AC signal voltage and the signal pulses which determine the limited bias voltage for the resultant AC voltage are applied on the non-selected pixels.

An oil tank is slidably insertable into and withdrawable out of the frame independently of the oil and cooling units, and the oil tank is detachably connected to the oil unit for supplying oil to the oil unit.

A drive shaft and a cam assembly are disposed between the drive shaft and the sliding member for controlling the reciprocating movement of the member. The cam assembly comprises an inner cam axially connected to the drive shaft. An outer cam disposed within the ring-like sliding member in co-planar relationship, a bearing interposed between the inner cam and the outer cam to transmit movement therebetween, and a needle bearing providing contact between the outer cam and the inner surface of the sliding member.

At the crossing point where the column is formed, the drain line is formed to have a wider width to prevent light leakage. Further, at the crossing point where the column is formed, the scanning line is formed to have a narrower width to prevent increase of capacitance between the drain line and the scanning line. The column is formed at a crossing point corresponding to a specific color, e.g., a blue pixel B, so that a difference in transmittance and in characteristic of thin film transistors due to formation of the column is initially compensated.

    摘要: To improve the reflectivity or the transmissivity significantly, there is provided a liquid crystal display device including a liquid crystal display panel having a pair of substrates and liquid crystal sandwiched between the pair of substrates. The liquid crystal display panel includes a plurality of subpixels each having an active element, a pixel electrode, and a counter electrode, in which an electric field is generated by the pixel electrode and the counter electrode to drive the liquid crystal. The liquid crystal display device includes a light-shielding film and a color filter formed on a first substrate of the pair of substrates, a scanning line for supplying the active element with a scanning voltage, the scanning line being formed on a second substrate of the pair of substrates. The boundary region between the subpixels adjacent along the scanning line has no light-shielding film and no color filter.
