摘要: A two-dimensional photosensor is formed on a surface light source, and a transparent conductive layer made of ITO or the like is formed on the two-dimensional photosensor. The transparent conductive layer dissipates static electricity and is grounded. Even if a finger in contact with the transparent conductive layer on the two-dimensional photosensor is charged with static electricity, this static electricity can dissipate via the transparent conductive layer. When the transparent conductive layer is divided into two layers, and the finger simultaneously touches the two transparent conductive layers, a fingerprint reading start signal is obtained. Even if, therefore, the finger is charged with static electricity, the two-dimensional photosensor can be prevented from malfunction or damage by the static electricity. When a target object in contact between the transparent conductive layers is a copy having a different resistance value, reading is not performed, and the reliability can improve.

摘要: An electrical control unit for a vehicle successively writes operation data of the vehicle in a transponder provided in a key used for starting the vehicle. At the same time, the electric control unit successively writes the same operation data in a memory area of a non-volatile memory corresponding to a key used for starting the engine. When the key is lost, the engine is started under the condition that the identification of the lost key is written in a replacement key. Then, the electric control unit of the vehicle writes operation data stored in the non-volatile memory corresponding to the lost key in the replacement key. At the same time, the electric control unit of the vehicle moves the operation data to a memory area corresponding to the replacement key. Accordingly, when the operation data is read from the replacement key, operation data stored in the lost key can be managed.

摘要: One frame of a video signal is separated to a plurality of display frames. To display a color specified by the video signal by mixing display colors of a plurality of display frames, the video signal is converted to data indicative of a voltage to be applied to each pixel over the display frames by using a conversion table. A voltage corresponding to the converted data is applied to a birifringence control type liquid crystal display device to drive the liquid crystal display device multiple times in one frame period of the video signal. When the response speed of the liquid crystal is fast, a color obtained by mixing the display colors of a plurality of display frames is recognized by an observer. When the response speed of the liquid crystal is slow, a color corresponding to an average value of the voltages applied to a plurality of display frames is recognized by the observer. When the liquid crystal has an intermediate response speed, a color obtained by visually mixing a series of display colors displayed during the transition of the alignment state of the liquid crystal is recognized by the observer.

摘要: Electric field adjusting layers each of which is different from an aligning film in at least one of a resistivity and a dielectric constant are formed in each pixel on a pixel electrode of a first substrate. An electric field applied to a liquid crystal partially changes in each pixel, and regions which are different from each other in aligned state are formed in each pixel. Therefore, a field angle is widened. A value .DELTA.n.d of the liquid crystal is preferably set to be 600 nm or more.

摘要: A transmitting and receiving system including, a transponder always maintains a transmission function even if circuit constants of circuit elements are deviated or such circuit constants are shifted in association with temperature changes. The transponder includes a transponder coil electromagnetically coupled to an antenna coil through which a response signal is transmitted, a resonance capacitor, a main modulation circuit including a first modulation capacitor, and a supplemental modulation circuit including a second modulation capacitor whose static capacitance value is different from that of the first modulation capacitor. A response signal is transmitted in changing an impedance of a transmitting and receiving portion by the main modulation circuit when a question signal is received and by the supplemental modulation circuit when a correction command signal is received.

摘要: An object of this invention is to provide a door unlocking device adapted unlock a door by transmitting a signal in the air through a signal transmitter, which can unlock the door even when the power source of the signal transmitter, namely, the battery has consumed up. With a door unlocking device, upon insertion of an ignition key into the rotor of a key cylinder, a shutter is opened to operate a shutter switch. Under this condition, the rotor is turned in opposite directions from the neutral position according to a predetermined rotor turning pattern. The rotor turning pattern is discriminated by a rotor-turning-pattern discriminating circuit. Ensuring that the rotor turning pattern is the one predetermined for unlocking the door, the rotor-turning-pattern discriminating circuit activates an electric operating mechanism to cause a lock mechanism to unlock the door.
