摘要: A service station for use in servicing one or more inkjet print cartridges includes a service station sled assembly movably attached to a service station chassis. The sled assembly includes at least one wiper and at least one cap. In one embodiment, the service station includes a cam and cam follower that interact to move the sled assembly. The cam is shaped so that movement of the cam to a first position causes each cap to contact a printhead of a corresponding inkjet print cartridge. Movement of the cam to a second position causes the cap to move away from the printhead and moves the wiper into a wiping position. In another embodiment, a service station according to the invention for use with a facsimile machine including inkjet printing apparatus includes a motor that is positioned so as to minimize the footprint of the service station. A method according to the invention includes the steps of positioning a print carriage adjacent to a service station including a sled assembly, and rotating a cam of the service station such that a cam follower of the sled assembly interacts with the cam to cause movement of the sled assembly.

摘要: An electrophotographic printer has a toner recycling mechanism with a belt conveyor that transports toner from a toner collection chamber, in which toner removed from the photosensitive drum of the printer is collected, to a toner delivery chamber, from which toner is returned to the developing unit of the printer. The belt conveyor is disposed in a channel that loops around the ends of roller shafts in the printer, and does not increase the width of the printer. The toner recycling mechanism is easily assembled, and can be driven without motion irregularities.

摘要: There is provided a solid state imaging apparatus which has realized sharing of signal charges without generation of a fault of image like a vertical stripe resulting from defective sharing of signal charges in a horizontal transfer register consisting of a pair of transfer sections for horizontal transfer by sharing therewith the signal charges of the same pixel. In this solid state imaging apparatus, a pair of horizontal transfer registers 4 (6) are provided to execute horizontal transfer by sharing the signal charges of the same pixel in the first horizontal transfer register 4 in the side of the image section with a pair of transfer sections 4a, 4b with the control gate section 5. For the sharing of signal charges, a transfer channel 17 is formed in the transfer gate section 5 between the bit (.phi.H2) of the transfer section 4a and the bit (.phi.H1) one bit after, in the horizontal transfer direction, the bit (.phi.H2) of the transfer section 4b forming a pair with above bit of the transfer section 4a and thereby the signal charges are shared with a pair of transfer sections 4a and 4b through the transfer channel 17.

摘要: A service station for use in servicing one or more inkjet print cartridges includes a service station sled assembly detachably attached to a service station chassis. The service station according to the invention can be used with either a facsimile machine that uses thermal inkjet printing, or with a thermal inkjet printer. In one embodiment, a mechanism for detaching the sled assembly is easily activated by a lever extending from the service station chassis. The invention enables a user to easily detach the sled assembly from and attach the sled assembly to the remainder of the service station, thereby allowing the user to easily replace the sled assembly without necessity to replace the remainder of the service station.

摘要: A distributed file system in which the cache hit ratio of a client is enhanced to speed up a file access for each of users logging into the client. A file server includes an access frequency database in which the names of users are listed in association with the names of files that are frequently accessed by the individual users. Each client includes a log-in user table for entering the name of a user who is logging in, and a cache priority control module. The cache priority control module sets priority levels for the copies of the files stored in a cache area, on the basis of the contents of the access frequency database and the log-in user table. The set priority levels function as criteria when any of the file copies is to be expelled from the cache area. Owing to this construction, the copies of the files of high usage frequencies are preferentially kept in the cache area of the client for each user logging into this client, whereby the cache hit ratio can be enhanced to speed up the file access.
