A damper spring device is provided with a first spring and a second spring retained by a stopper in such a manner that the second spring is compressed by a preload. The preload on the second spring is greater than a preload on the first spring. The first spring and the second spring have load-deflection characteristics such that the first spring deforms when an axial load acting in the direction of compression of the first spring is not greater than a load at which a strand of the first spring is at least partially compacted and that the first spring and the second spring deform when the axial load is greater than the load at which the strand of the first spring is at least partially compacted.

A valve spring device is provided with a first coil spring and a second coil spring combined in series with each other. The inside diameter (coil inside diameter) of the second coil spring is greater than the outside diameter (coil outside diameter) of the first coil spring. A part of the first coil spring including an end portion along an axis is inserted into the second coil spring, thereby forming a combined spring. The end portion of the first coil spring and an end portion of the second coil spring are connected to each other by a connecting member. The first and second coil springs are compressed along the axis as they are located in series between a cylinder head and a retainer. A shaft of a valve is passed within the coil springs.

The present invention relates to a foot-stimulation health-promoting device that includes a ring-shaped transverse member 6, which has an expansion and contraction property, and is worn on a portion of the instep of the foot and on the arch of the foot, and a ring-shaped sub-digit engaging member 9 having an expansion and contraction property. These members are mounted on a ring-shaped main body 1 which is equipped with an ankle-engaging portion 2, and a main-digit engaging portion 3 located on at tip, and side lobe portions 4, 5 for connecting them. The transverse member 6 has been sewn on only one of the side lobe portions 4, and the position can be adjusted in a fore-and-aft direction. Both ends of the substrate portion 10 of the sub-digit engaging member 9 have been sewn on the side lobe portion 5.

An annular excess portion is disposed, a spline forming male mold is passed through a boss of a sheet metal-made rotary member in which a root portion of the boss and a peripheral portion are previously displaced, and the boss is set to a stationary mold with being fitted into a boss fitting hole of a rotary member holding mold. Thereafter, the annular excess portion is clamped between a pressing mold and the stationary mold to be deformed into a flat shape, and the root portion of the boss is squeezed into spline forming grooves to be plastically deformed, thereby forming a boss spline. According to the configuration, increase in thickness os a sheet metal blank is avoided, the strength of the boss is ensured, and weight reduction is achieved. The production efficiency can be remarkably improved, and cutting chips are eliminated, so that adverse influence on the working environment can be avoided.

A liquid discharge apparatus for aligning needle-like structures. The apparatus includes a tapered nozzle having an entrance and a discharge opening. The nozzle is tapered in such a manner that its diameter decreases towards the discharge opening. The diameter of the nozzle at the entrance is larger than the length of the needle-like structures, and the diameter of the discharge opening is larger than the diameter of the needle-like structures and smaller than the length of the needle-like structures. By passing through the nozzle, the needle-like structures are aligned.
