Abstract:
A packet data transmission system comprises primary stations (PS) having signal transmitting and receiving means and antennas (PA1 to PA4) for propagating downlink signals and receiving uplink signals and a plurality of secondary stations (SS) able to roam within the coverage areas of the primary stations. Each secondary station (SS1) has signal transmitting and receiving means, a predetermined number of antennas (SA1 to SA4), and means for monitoring its radio environment. Information about the radio environment is relayed as an uplink signal to the respective primary station which modifies its mode of transmission of packet data signals. The secondary station in response to the modified mode of transmission of the downlink signals adapts its receiver resources to process the packet data signals and effect cancellation of any interference.

The invention relates to the modification of bryodin 1 to result in bryodin 1 proteins that are substantially non-immunogenic or less immunogenic than any non-modified counterpart when used in vivo. The invention relates furthermore to T-cell epitope peptides derived from said nonmodified protein by means of which it is possible to create modified bryodin 1 variants with reduced immunogenicity.

A communication system comprises a downlink data channel for the transmission of data packets from a primary station to a secondary station and uplink and downlink control channels. The secondary station measures one or more characteristics of the data channel and issues a report to the primary station, which determines an operational parameter of the data channel in response to the report. The secondary station determines average channel characteristics over a measurement period. The length of the measurement period may be signalled by the primary station or determined directly by the secondary station. In one embodiment the selected period depends on the speed (V) of the secondary station. This is determined (604) by either station and tested to determine (606) whether it is outside the range for the current measurement period: if it is the period is reset (608).

Abstract:
A method for determining resources to be decoded by the UE to retrieve physical downlink control channels. A method is in a UE or an eNB and comprises the following steps of: i. determining a start position of a unit of resources in one physical resource block pair; ii. determining a gap between two of the units; and iii. determining a set of units, in a given plurality of physical resource block pairs, according to said start position and said gap, as the resources to be decoded. In this way, the eNB and the UE can locate all the resources for the EPDCCH, namely the search space is determined. This aspect allows a balance between the number of blind decoding and eNB scheduling flexibility in the EPDCCH search space.

A method of reducing inter cell interference in a wireless communication network, a network control node, network access node, user equipment and computer program product operable to implement that method. The method is for use in a network comprising a plurality of network access nodes, each supporting a region of radio overage, and the method comprises: discovering, for a first network access node, at least one adjacent network access node; allocating at least one predetermined shared radio channel for radio communication commenced within an overlapping radio coverage region between said first network access node and said adjacent network access node; and communicating an indication of said at least one predetermined shared radio channel to said first network access node and said adjacent network access node. The method enables shared radio channels to be used in a “soft handover” type scenario, by enabling adjacent network access nodes to decipher and decode transmissions made by user equipment operating in overlap regions in a network. Such methods may be particularly suited to user equipment operating in a Cell_FACH mode.

Novel methods of testing the immunogenicity of variant antigens are provided. In particular, methods based on the use of transgenic animals are provided, wherein the transgenic animal is tolerized to a particular antigen and is then exposed to variants of the antigen and immune responses are determined. In one embodiment the transgenic animal is a mouse which is transgenic for human MHC class II molecules and the immunogenicity of libraries of variant antibodies are tested.

The invention discloses a method and an apparatus for determining a search space of an E-PDCCH of a user equipment. According to the invention, first it is determined a distance between candidates of a search space per aggregation level; and then it is determined a position of a corresponding candidate of the search space per aggregation level in allocated ECCEs at least according to the determined distance. With the invention, candidates of a search space per aggregation level can be positioned uniformly in allocated ECCEs.
