摘要： A format conversion circuit 100 includes a FIFO memory 101 for writing and reading video data VD in synchronization with a sampling clock CK, a header generation circuit 102 for generating an MPEG2-TS packet header, and a synchronous timing detection circuit 103 for detecting a horizontal synchronizing signal for the video data VD. The format conversion circuit 100 also includes a counter 104 which counts the number of bytes of packet header and the number of bytes of video data VD, and a switch 105 which selects the packet header until the counted number of bytes reaches four bytes, and then selects the video data read out of the FIFO memory 101.

摘要： A detector detects a first key information piece embedded on one side of one sheet or more than one respective sheets from which image data is read out by a reader, and a second key information piece embedded on the other side thereof or on another sheet. And a comparator 11 compares to each other, the detected first and second key information pieces and judges whether or not these key information pieces are related to each other. Then, a controller permits an output portion to output image data read out from all judgment target sheets if it is judged about all these respective sheets that the first and second key information pieces are related to each other, meanwhile the controller prohibits the output portion from outputting image data read out from one sheet if it is judged about this sheet that those key information pieces are not related to each other.

摘要： A communication system and a communication method for permitting a user of a cell-phone to receive data in a non-service area via an MFP. When the communication condition between a base station and a cell-phone becomes bad, the base station sends a map showing the current position of the cell-phone and the locations of nearby MFPs to the cell-phone. The user of the cell-phone selects one from the MFPs on the map and notifies the base station of the selected MFP. The base station sends an e-mail addressed to the cell-phone to the selected MFP, and the MFP stores the e-mail therein. The user of the cell-phone makes an access to the MFP by short-distance wireless communication to receive the e-mail.

After a sheet based on a certain printing request is outputted to an exit tray of the image processing apparatus, whether or not a sheet is present in the exit tray is judged, and whether or not a user having transmitted the printing request is situated within a predetermined distance from the image processing apparatus is judged. A message selected based on these judgment results is sent to a mobile terminal unit correlated with information identifying the user.

摘要： For a V-line noise occurring in an image due to a defect in a VCCD of an image sensor, a position where a V-line noise is expected to occur when an image capture apparatus is in an initial state (initial noise position) is previously stored in a noise address memory. Then, a V-line noise is corrected by either using information about the initial noise position or detecting a position of the V-line noise, depending factors responsible for a temperature of the image sensor (a temperature of a substrate of the image sensor, a time period which has elapsed since the image capture apparatus was activated, and establishment or non-establishment of a continuous photographing mode), in other words, depending on a state of the image capture apparatus.

摘要： A digital camera reduces the possibility that a user's release operation is disabled and performs photographing operations at the appropriate times. The digital camera (1) can load a memory card (40a) and a magnetic disk card (40b) as a plurality of recording media, wherein a CPU (17) can independently make accesses to the memory card (40a) and the magnetic disk card (40b). The CPU (17) performs a plurality of tasks in parallel, whereby a captured image is recorded on either one of the memory card (40a) and the magnetic disk card (40b) while predetermined processing is performed on the other. In such a configuration, a captured image which is stored in image memory (21) through a photographing operation can be recorded at an early stage on one of the recording media. This enables continuous photographing and the like even in such a condition that recording on a recording medium which is selected as a subject of recording is not allowed.

摘要： An image pickup apparatus has an image sensor having first-type, second-type, and third-type pixels each producing a signal corresponding to a first, a second, and a third color respectively. The pixels are arranged in a two-dimensional array consisting of first-type and second-type lines arranged alternately, with the first-type lines each composed of first-type and second-type pixels arranged alternately and the second-type lines each composed of first-type and third-type pixels arranged alternately. The image pickup apparatus also has a first subtracter for calculating the difference between the outputs of the first-type pixels and the outputs of the second-type pixels on the first-type lines, and a second subtracter for calculating the difference between the outputs of the first-type pixels and the output of the third-type pixels on the second-type lines. The image pickup apparatus further has a control circuit, which sets the read-operation clock signal of the image sensor at a lower rate during actual shooting than during previewing when the difference between the absolute values of the outputs of the first and second subtracters during previewing is equal to or greater than a predetermined value.
