摘要: Water contamination is purged from molecular sieve material used in oxygen concentrators by heating the molecular sieve material to a temperature in the range of approximately 450.degree. to 950.degree. F., and subjecting the molecular sieve material to a stream of dry sweep gas having a dew point in the range of approximately -80.degree. to -100.degree. F. In the preferred embodiment, the molecular sieve material is contained in a vessel and heated by means of a number of heating elements. In addition, a flow of dry sweep gas is produced by at least two drying chambers containing a desiccating material. A first valve assembly alternately cycles the sweep gas through the first drying chamber and then through said second drying chamber. A second valve assembly routes a portion of the sweep gas leaving the active drying chamber to the vessel, and routes the remainder of the sweep gas through the remaining drying chamber(s) to purge water from the desiccating material contained therein during the temporal portions of the cycle when each drying chamber is not supplying sweep gas to the vessel.

摘要: A current drain reducer for an electronic circuit system such as an electronic amplifier operated through controlling selected circuit branches therein in response to sensing a selected position of a potentiometer used therein. Such circuit branches each has a control conductivity device located therein which has a control therefore connected to a shutdown signal generator which can be a power supply. The potentiometer can have its low terminals in one such circuit branch which may be in a first electronic amplifier circuit and its wiper connected to another such circuit branch which may be in a second electronic amplifier. A sensing circuit for sensing the position of the wiper provides an output signal to the shutdown signal generator.

摘要: A battery charger device and method including a charging circuit having a source of charging energy and connections for installing one or more batteries to be charged, the device having a controllable switch associated with each battery to be charged and a microprocessor for controlling the switches to establish a charging sequence of distinct repeated charging periods for each battery, a display device associated with each battery under control of a microprocessor for individually indicating the charging status of each battery, the microprocessor having inputs at which various parameters with respect to the batteries being charged are applied such as battery voltages, ambient temperatures and charging currents, the microprocessor being programmed to terminate a voltage charging operation with respect to any one or more of the batteries if the measured difference between the charging and non charging voltage of any one or more of the batteries during succeeding charging periods exceeds some predetermined value, or if the charging current, or the ambient temperature of the battery being charged is outside of a predetermined range. The present device and method may also include a back up termination means which responds to measurements of the battery voltage during succeeding charging periods and determines therefrom that on a predetermined number of succeeding cycles the condition of the battery voltage has changed by at least some predetermined amount.

摘要: The torsion bar adjusting device comprises a frame structure defining a collar with a slot in its lateral wall. Within the collar are first and second torsion bar end receiving sockets each having integrally radially outwardly extending arms passing through the slot in the collar. These arms may be individually moved to impart a rotation to the socket portion within the collar over a given number of degrees within the confines of the width of the slot. The arrangement is such that a center section of the housing for the torsion bars associated with the left and right rear wheels respectively in an automobile suspension system can be cut out and the adjusting device substituted for the section with the inner ends of the torsion bars being received in opposite ends of the collar to be secured to the respective torsion bar end receiving sockets. Individual movement of the radially extending arms will then impart a further twist to the associated torsion bars and thereby enable quick adjustment of the "stiffness" of the suspension system.

摘要: A water boiler adapted for use in a fireplace is disclosed having an inlet header pipe, an outlet header pipe, and a series of pipes disposed parallel to one another and connected between the inlet and the outlet header pipes. The series of pipes is fashioned so as to form a grate suitable for supporting a log fire, including a horizontal portion upon which the logs may be supported and a remaining portion which extends upward along the rear wall of the fireplace through an arc back toward the top front of the fireplace, whereby heat rising from the fire passes between the series of pipes for added boiler efficiency.A heating system using the fireplace boiler and operating in conjunction with a conventional residential heating system is also disclosed. The fireplace boiler contributes heat a conventional furnace to reduce the amount of energy consumed by the latter.
