Abstract: A method in a mobile station (MS) and an MS in a wireless communication network are provided. The method includes detecting an intersystem change from an S1 mode to one of an A/Gb mode and an Iu mode, detecting that a routing area update (RAU) has failed detecting that a successful generic location updating procedure has not been performed since the detected intersystem change, and triggering an MM specific procedure based on detecting that the RAU has failed and the successful generic location updating procedure has not been performed. The MM specific procedure corresponds to a location area update (LAU).

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a pre-5th-Generation (5G) or 5G communication system to be provided for supporting higher data rates Beyond 4th-Generation (4G) communication system such as Long Term Evolution (LTE). A method for handling communication in a wireless network by a user equipment (UE) is provided. The method includes receiving a non-access stratum (NAS) message indicating that the UE is not permitted to access a first public land mobile network (PLMN) over a satellite communication along with geographical indication or a timer indication from the first PLMN. Further, the method includes determining a geographical area based on the received geographical indication or a timer value based on the timer indication. Further, the method includes starting a timer with the timer value. Further, the method includes determining that the UE is not allowed to access the first PLMN in the determined geographical area or the expiry of the timer. Further, the method includes performing a PLMN selection and registration procedure on a second PLMN based on the determination.

Further, the method includes reading, by the multi SIM UE, the paging message from the first SIM network and determining, by the multi SIM UE, that a higher priority service is on-going on the second SIM network; and managing, by the multi SIM UE, the paging procedure by sending a paging reject message to the first SIM network of the wireless communication network.
