    Abstract: Provided is a display device including a base layer; a light emitting element layer disposed on the base layer; and a thin-film encapsulation layer disposed on and encapsulating the light emitting element layer, where the thin-film encapsulation layer includes an inorganic layer having at least one inorganic sub-layer pair, where the at least one inorganic sub-layer pair includes a first inorganic sub-layer having a first refractive index and a second inorganic sub-layer disposed on the first inorganic sub-layer and having a second refractive index different from the first refractive index.

    Abstract: A curved display device includes a curved first substrate, a curved second substrate, a liquid crystal layer, a first alignment layer, and a second alignment layer. The second substrate faces the first substrate. The liquid crystal layer is interposed between the first and second substrates and includes liquid crystal molecules. The first alignment layer includes reactive mesogens polymerized to each other and is disposed between the first substrate and the liquid crystal layer. The second alignment layer is disposed between the second substrate and the liquid crystal layer. Among the liquid crystal molecules, first liquid crystal molecules disposed in the vicinity of the first alignment layer have a first pretilt angle, and second liquid crystal molecules disposed in the vicinity of the second alignment layer have a second pretilt angle different from the first pretilt angle.

    Abstract: According to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention, a liquid crystal display includes: a first substrate; a first subpixel electrode disposed on the first substrate, supplied with a first voltage and including a first sub region and a second sub region; a second subpixel electrode disposed on the first substrate and supplied with a second voltage; an insulating layer disposed on the first sub region of the first subpixel electrode and disposed beneath the second subpixel electrode and the second sub region of the first subpixel electrode; a second substrate facing the first substrate; and a common electrode disposed on the second substrate, in which a first region in which the first subpixel electrode is formed includes four distinct areas having different characteristics.
