摘要: Real-time image processing apparatus and method for displaying two different visual resolutions includes structure and steps for detecting a position on a display screen at which an operator is looking. A center area of a predetermined size is determined and includes the detected position at which the operator is looking and another area different from the center area. Structure and steps are provided for determining a first image generation algorithm for a first image to be displayed on the center area and a second image generation algorithm for a second image to be displayed on another area. The first and second image generation algorithms are different from each other. Structure and steps are provided for generating the first and second images using the first and second image generation algorithms, respectively. Structure and steps are provided for causing a display of the first and second images together and having different visual resolutions.

摘要: An image processing method and the apparatus thereof for approximating an object shape and reconstructing the corresponding image by subjecting a radial range image to approximating with polygons and reconstructing an image from these polygons execute the following processes. At block B210, reading a radial range image data is executed. At block B220, a plural of different resolution radial range images are generated based upon the read radial range image. At block B230, normal vectors, according to each resolution of a radial range image, are calculated. At block B240, an edge-map having a plural of edges is generated in such a manner that a plural of edges are generated depending upon the resulting normal vectors and the radial range images of different resolutions. At block B250, the edge-maps of all kinds of resolutions are ORed to form a synthesized map. The synthesized map is subjected to correcting crossing and isolated edges. At block B260, each polygon is divided into a plural of triangles. At block B270, assigning 3 dimensional coordinate values and the normal vector generated at block B230 to each apex and the corresponding triangle plane respectively, is executed. At block B280, eliminating unnecessary triangle gaps around a T-shaped point is executed.

摘要: A method for producing a tapered waveguide layer is disclosed. The method includes the steps of: forming a resist pattern on a substrate; setting the substrate in an apparatus for forming a film such that particles constituting the film reach the substrate from a direction which is oblique relative to the substrate; forming the film on a region of a surface of the substrate which is not covered by the resist pattern, the film having a thickness distribution corresponding to a shadow which the resist pattern creates on the substrate in accordance with an angle between the substrate and the direction; and removing the resist pattern, thereby forming the tapered waveguide layer consisting of the film on the substrate.

摘要: A correction device for correcting the deviation of light beams of a primary scanning direction used for an image forming apparatus in which a plurality of light beams are simultaneously scanned on a recording medium in the primary scanning direction so that a plurality of lines are simultaneously recorded. A plurality of beam detectors, the number of which corresponds to the number of beams of light, are disposed in a scanning region in parallel with the primary scanning direction. Only one light beam is incident upon each beam detector, and a difference of detection time between the plurality of beam detectors is detected by a same beam detection interval detector. A different beam detection interval detector detects a time difference between detection of different light beams are detected. Based on the time differences detected by the same beam detection interval detector and by the different beam detection interval detector, a deviation time calculator calculates the deviation of a plurality of light beams of the primary scanning direction. Based on the calculation result of the deviation time calculator, a deviation corrector controls the phase of a printing clock for the image formation conducted by the plurality of light beams and also controls a timed relation of the start of image formation.

摘要: Disclosed is an engine for an automotive vehicle designed such that a mixed gas supplied to the combustion is burned first in the periphery of the combustion chamber and then over the entire length in the peripheral direction of a cylinder, followed by burning the mixed gas in the center of the cylinder. Plural sources of ignition, i.e. ignition gaps of spark plugs, are so disposed at a peripheral end portion of the combustion chambers in spaced relationship with each other in a cylindrically peripheral direction as to allow the flame ignited by each of the spark plugs to coincide or collide with each other in the cylindrically peripheral direction and thereafter in the center of the cylinder. This arrangement can eliminate NOx and HC and perform dilute combustion, thereby improving fuel economy.

摘要: A dial-type timer device having a timer body and a dial on a face of the timer body. A cover, including a locking pawl, is placed on the face of the timer body so that the dial protrudes through a hole therein. A setting ring is mounted on the dial and engages the locking pawl at a selected location to repeatedly set the time. Alternatively, two setting rings, each including a tooth on its outer periphery, are mounted on the dial to limit the range of rotation of the dial. Also, in a timing circuit of the timer, a dummy resistor of substantially the same impedance as an output relay, with its own switching element is connected in series with the output relay. By switching current alternatively through the output relay and the dummy resistor, fluctuation of current in the circuit is minimized and stable power is supplied to the time-limit circuit.
