摘要: An engine is configured to ignite an air-fuel mixture with an electric spark to ignite an air-fuel mixture. The engine includes: a cylinder head including a chamber partition wall having through holes and defining a main combustion chamber and a sub-combustion chamber; a fuel injector that injects fuel into the main combustion chamber; an air injector that injects air into the sub-combustion chamber; an ignition device causes an electric discharge between an ignition electrode and the chamber partition wall; and a control system that controls the fuel and air injectors, and the ignition device. At a compression stroke during a warm-up operation, the fuel is injected throughout a first period, and the air is injected throughout a second period at least partially overlapping the first period. At a power stroke during the warm-up operation, the electric discharge is caused after the fuel is injected.

摘要: An ignition apparatus for an internal combustion engine is provided. The ignition apparatus includes an ECU. The ECU calculates a target value E* of an energy input amount of energy inputted into a spark plug based on an in-cylinder flow velocity v, a cylinder pressure P, and an air-fuel ratio AFR. The ECU also calculates a command value I* of a secondary current based on the in-cylinder flow velocity and control an operation of a second circuit according to the target value E* and the command value I*. The calculation of the target value E* using the in-cylinder flow velocity v, the cylinder pressure P, and the air fuel ratio AFR enables the energy input amount to be controlled according to the operating state of the internal combustion engine. The calculation of the command value I* based on the in-cylinder flow velocity v enables the secondary current to be controlled so as to eliminate a risk of the blowout of sparks. The ignition apparatus is, thus, capable of variably changing the amount of energy inputted to the spark plug to improve the fuel consumption.

摘要: A variety of methods and arrangements are described for controlling transitions between firing fractions during skip fire and potentially variable displacement operation of an engine. In general, actuator first transition strategies are described in which an actuator position (e.g., cam phase, TCC slip, etc.) is changed to, or close to a target position before i corresponding firing fraction change is implemented. When the actuator change associated with a desired firing fraction change is relatively large, the firing fraction change is divided into a series of two or more firing fraction change steps. A number of intermediate target selection schemes are described as well.

摘要: A handheld work apparatus has a combustion engine which drives a tool of the work apparatus via a centrifugal clutch. The centrifugal clutch couples in an engagement rotational speed range (nK) which extends between a lower engagement rotational speed (nu) and an upper engagement rotational speed (no). The engine has a fuel supply device, an ignition device, a control device and a device for detecting the rotational speed (n) of the engine. A method for operating the handheld work apparatus makes provision for the rotational speed profile of the combustion engine to be monitored in the engagement rotational speed range (nK) and for the power (P) output for driving the tool to be increased from an operating power (P1) to an increased power (P2, P3) when the rotational speed profile corresponds with a predetermined rotational speed profile over a predetermined period of time (Δt).

摘要: A method for operating an internal-combustion engine includes increasing a torque demand, controlling a throttle valve, opening an air injection valve and continuously measuring first and second gas pressures with an electronic control unit. The method also includes closing the throttle valve, measuring a first gas mass flow, retarding an ignition angle, and closing the air injection valve. In the method the throttle valve is opened with the control unit when the first gas pressure p1 equals the second gas pressure p2. The method also includes continuously controlling the fuel system with the electronic control unit to have a stoichiometric fuel/air ratio of the internal combustion engine being constantly combusting in the internal combustion engine.

摘要: A control apparatus is applied to a hybrid vehicle including an internal combustion engine that is capable of changing over its combustion state between lean combustion and stoichiometric combustion. The control apparatus executes noise suppression control by limiting the operating point of the internal combustion engine to be upon a noise suppression line for lean combustion or to be upon a noise suppression line for stoichiometric combustion, so that the noise generated by a power transmission mechanism is suppressed. When changing over from lean combustion to stoichiometric combustion during execution of noise suppression control, the control apparatus of the present invention changes the air/fuel ratio after changing the operating point of the internal combustion engine from one point to a point that is more toward the lower torque side of the noise suppression line.
